We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Product Owner - Transformation

In this role, you will:

  • Requires obsessive curiosity to deliver PFS business goals and growth looking across GPS (Global Payment System) and MSS (Market Securities Services). Responsibility to educate the non-product teams on how to best sell and market the product.
  • Institutional Engineer is an agile role that blends traditional Product Owner responsibilities with deep technical expertise and a background in delivering and managing Financial Institutional flow from other organisations.
  • This role needs a specialist who develops, manages, and strategizes financial products like banking apps User Experience (UX), trading platforms Foreign Exchange (FX), or payment systems Global Disbursement (GD) and Global Wallets (GW), often working closely with cross-functional teams and ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Ownership of the go to market strategy. Accountable for defined KPIs eg API calls, customer onboardings, FX flow etc
  • A lead transformation engineer that is passionate about solving complex  problems for Institutional users and their customers. Someone who thrives working in an environment where they are empowered to make decisions and drive features and products forward.
  • Operate on a strong belief in automation, programmatic implementation, and reusable design. Able to step back and think holistically about the ecosystem, but also follow through and help implement the design; drawing on the resources across the rest of the global product tribe.
  • Sustain  growth by continuously iterating on the services we run, with a focus on availability, security, and ease of use. Engineer with relevant experience who can analyse complex requirements and deliver simple solutions to help our teams achieve our mission with speed and confidence.
  • Design, develop, and maintain highly scalable services. Producing public facing APIs for others to integrate with.
  • Collaborate with teams across HSBC globally to deliver real impact and expand the functionality we can offer to our partners on our platform. Working closely with other members of the team to solve complex problems. Advocating best practices and code reviews.

To be successful you will:

  • Minimum of 8 years of work experience in Transaction banking, preferably in Payment’s product.
  • Proven experience in Project management, requirement analysis, business case development, risk management, marketing support.  
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to analyze complex problems, interpret customer and/or operational needs and develop integrated, creative solutions.
  • Proven ability to run effective workshops and trainings for client business users.
  • Strong aptitude with Data Analysis and Interpretation skills - the ability to critically evaluate information gathered across multiple sources, using multiple analysis techniques, reconcile variances and recommend proposals to senior and key stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to identify the root causes of problems and generate effective solutions. Alongside this, adaptability is key, as Strategic Business Change s must be able to pivot quickly in response to new information or changing circumstances, ensuring that the change process remains on track despite obstacles.
