We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Consultant Specialist.

In this role, you will:

  • Design, build and support Oracle (19c, RAC, Data Guard) and PostgreSQL (v12–v18) database platforms, including installation, upgrades, patching and configuration standardization.
  • Implement and manage HA/DR and replication solutions (Oracle Data Guard/RAC; PostgreSQL streaming & logical replication) with failover/switchover procedures and DR drill validation.
  • Own backup/restore strategies and recoverability (RMAN, pg_basebackup, pg_dump/pg_restore, PITR/WAL archiving); validate restores and meet RPO/RTO targets.
  • Diagnose and resolve production incidents; perform performance tuning and troubleshooting (AWR/ASH/ADDM, EXPLAIN, SQL tuning, SGA/PGA, indexing, wait-event and OS-level analysis).
  • Administer database security and compliance: roles/privileges, RBAC, auditing, encryption, password policies, vulnerability remediation and access reviews.
  • Manage storage and objects (tablespaces, datafiles, ASM disk groups), capacity planning, archivelog retention and space-growth control.
  • Operate Delphix for data virtualization and masking: VDB provisioning, refreshes, bookmarks, lifecycle automation and CI/CD integration.
  • Develop automation, monitoring and runbooks (Ansible/Jenkins/shell), provide 24x7 on-call support and collaborate with application/infrastructure teams.

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Experience: 6–8 years of hands-on Oracle and PostgreSQL database administration.
  • Performance: Strong skills in database performance tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL programming, shell scripting, and database migrations.
  • HA/DR Expertise: Experience with high availability and disaster recovery, including Oracle RAC and Data Guard.
  • Platform Knowledge: Strong Linux/Unix (including RHEL) experience with SAN, NAS, and cloud storage.
  • Operations & Automation: Familiarity with job scheduling tools (e.g., Control-M), automation tools, and agile practices.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication, problem-solving, stakeholder management, and ability to handle multiple projects in fast-paced environments.
  • Support & Compliance: Willingness for weekend work and 24x7 rotational support, with proactive attitude, attention to detail, and compliance adherence.
