We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer with a strong passion for developing AI-driven applications end-to-end. This role requires a deep expertise in frontend (React.js), backend, AI/ML model development, MLOps, and DevOps (Docker, CI/CD pipelines, containerization, cloud deployment). You will lead a team and collaborate with cross-functional business units to develop innovative AI-powered solutions, uncover data patterns, build predictive models, and integrate AI functionalities into scalable web applications.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Associate Director, Software Engineering

Key Responsibilities:

As a Lead Full Stack Engineer, you will lead the following activities:

• Leadership and Strategy: Lead the design, training, and integration of Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI technologies to enhance product capabilities and customer experience. Drive innovative solutions and ensure alignment with the latest advancements in artificial intelligence.
• Team Leadership: Provide mentorship and guidance to a team of developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Develop talent within the team and make strategic decisions that align with the broader HSBC AI agenda.
• Technical Expertise: Assume end-to-end accountability for products or services, identifying and developing the most appropriate technology solutions to meet customer needs as part of the Customer Journey.
• Collaboration and Communication: Liaise with engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to drive product or service direction. Deliver effective presentations and cultivate strong relationships to facilitate excellent teamwork.
• Quality Assurance and DevOps: Create comprehensive technical test plans and ensure code quality through automated test environments. Support DevOps teams throughout the product or service release cycle with a strong customer focus.
• Incident Management: Lead efforts in the identification and resolution of all incidents associated with IT services, ensuring service resilience, sustainability, and recovery objectives are met.

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering and 10+ years’of experience in IT
• Proven full stack software engineering capabilities, including hands-on experience with state-of-the-art AI technologies. Strong solutions architecture experience with complex enterprise solutions.

• Expertise in developing and deploying machine learning models, including data preprocessing, model training, evaluation, and optimization.
• Proficiency with cloud platforms and familiarity with multiple programming languages such as Python, Java, Node.js, and Golang. Experience with frameworks like Spring, Django, TensorFlow, and PyTorch.
• Extensive experience in delivering scalable solutions within the finance industry, with hands-on delivery of digital products in large enterprises.
• Extensive experience in the financial services industry (retail, wholesale, investment banking, wealth management, etc.) with the ability to read and apply the latest academic and research findings.

• Demonstrated track record of effective team leadership, including coaching, mentoring, and talent development. Ability to make tough decisions and achieve ambitious outcomes.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills; adept at delivering presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience working in an Agile and DevOps-focused environment. Flexible and adaptable to changing requirements and responsibilities.
• Knowledge of Lean Startup Methodology and VC-style portfolio management. Experience with incubators, accelerators, VCs, and startups is a plus.
