We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Associate Director, Tech SME

In this role, you will:

• Develop and maintain the global roadmap for the demise of customer data technologies.
• Conduct thorough analyses of legacy applications to determine decommissioning priority based on risk, cost, and business impact.
• Collaborate with architecture, security, and legal teams to define the standard methodology for application demise.
• Identify and quantify cost-saving opportunities associated with application retirement.
• Lead end-to-end decommissioning projects, from initiation and planning to execution and closure.
• Define project scope, goals, deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements.
• Manage cross-functional project teams, including IT infrastructure, database administrators, information security, legal, compliance, and business stakeholders.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues proactively.
• Oversee the development and execution of data disposition strategies, including archival, migration, or secure deletion of customer data in accordance with data retention policies.
• Work closely with technical teams to plan infrastructure shutdowns, database decommissioning, and license termination.
• Evaluate and manage third-party vendors involved in the data archival or decommissioning process.
• Understand the technical dependencies between applications to avoid unintended business disruption.

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in IT project/program management, with a proven track record of successfully decommissioning complex enterprise applications, specifically those handling customer data (e.g., CRMs, Marketing Platforms, Data Warehouses).
• Deep, practical knowledge of global data privacy laws and their implications for data retention and deletion.
• Strong technical acumen with an understanding of databases (SQL, NoSQL), cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP), and application architectures.
• Exceptional project management skills (PMP, Agile/Scrum certification preferred).
• Outstanding communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
