We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Consultant Specialist.

In this role, you will:

• Build the server infrastructure that supports HSBC’s technology services in our Global Data Centres.
• Provide services to our Technology colleagues to reconfigure infrastructure as may be required.
• Support Connectivity, OS deployment and SAN related stakeholder queries.
• Work with our internal customers to ensure mutually successful outcomes, using your judgement to prioritise delivery and maximise value for the bank.
• Ensure the Delivery PODs have optimised processes, and the tools/automation required to deliver efficiently.
• Collaborate with colleagues in other infrastructure areas (e.g. networks, storage, data centre management) and external parties (e.g. hardware vendors) to ensure joined up delivery of a cohesive set of products.   
• Ensure all infrastructure is delivered to the quality standards required to support critical business applications.

 To be successful, you will:

• 5 to 10 years of experience in UNIX infrastructure.
• Expert level knowledge of UNIX (Linux, RHEL 8 & 9) & Network Infrastructure
• Very good understanding of SAN configuration EMC/Pure LUNs on UNIX (Linux) servers
• Very good understanding of x86 Infrastructure, Hardware installation & SAN/NAS/Netbackup configuration
• Ability of support DR tests & Server delivery lifecycle.
• Effective in dealing with Crisis calls/Critical issues for business-critical services.
• Proven experience in technically guiding teams in productivity driven environment.
• Proven experience in managing and building relationship with business partners and customer service.
• Worked in at least two of the areas of IT Infrastructure support i.e. Production Support, Application Support & infrastructure Support.
• Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills; Communication and interpersonal skills.
• Working across cultures & Ansible/Python/Shell/Powershell Scripting knowledge
