We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Consultant Specialist.

In this role, you will:

• Lead and coordinate Heritage and Digital projects across multiple business systems and products.
• Analyse requirements and perform end-to-end impact assessments.
• Prepare and review high-level and low-level technical designs.
• Develop, test, troubleshoot and support applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, VSAM, REXX and SELCOPY.
• Participate in design, code, test plan and test result reviews.
• Review project deliverables to ensure quality and adherence to standards.
• Allocate work, manage resources and coordinate delivery across globally distributed teams.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to process and quality improvements.
• Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to manage expectations and deliver effective solutions.
• Support Agile, DevOps, production support, change management and API delivery initiatives.  

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

• 12–16 years of relevant Mainframe experience, including COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, VSAM, REXX and SELCOPY.
• Hands-on experience with end-to-end impact analysis, technical design, development, testing and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of RDz and its key functions, with basic Core Java knowledge.
• Experience with CICS, DB2 and batch programmes.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven experience in team management, mentoring and delegation across multi-site teams.
• Good understanding of SDLC, Agile and DevOps operating models.
• Experience in change management and production-support processes.
• Basic understanding of microservices and API delivery.
• Knowledge of banking payment systems and/or the banking domain would be advantageous.
