C++ & Database/Senior Consultant Specialist

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Consultant Specialist.

In this role, you will:

• Develop and support solutions on the Sophis platform for Equity Derivatives IT
• Deliver high quality software by meeting timelines and following quality and integration processes
• Translate technical and functional requirements through regular collaboration with project managers, business analysts and developers
• Provide production platform support as part of a team rota with occasional weekend coverage
• Embed an agile mindset across delivery and contribute to accelerated release practices
• Implement automated tools and practices as part of DevOps transformation
• Design and propose solutions for new functionality, enhancements and ongoing maintenance across applications and services
• Partner within a global and diverse development team to deliver projects across multiple locations

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

• Demonstrate strong programming capability in C++
• Apply sound knowledge of data structures, algorithms and design patterns
• Use deep understanding of C++ internals including memory management, STL/collections and transaction management
• Build and tune Oracle PL/SQL solutions including performance tuning and query optimisation
• Create and maintain database objects and designs including functions, triggers, materialised views, schema design and DB management
• Work effectively with agile delivery methods and DevOps tooling such as GIT, JIRA, Jenkins, Maven and Ansible
• Apply working knowledge of MQ, XML and web services in enterprise integrations
• Support enterprise production systems with awareness of incident time criticality and structured problem-solving approaches
• Use AI tools in day to day work to improve productivity and outcomes
