We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Associate Director,  Software Engineering.

In this role, you will:

  • A seasoned technology leader with strong development background to drive engineering team to deliver holistically in their respective domain.Total of 15+ Yrs experience and 8-10 Yrs of experience in Customization and Implementation of Avaloq Banking System.
  • Good understanding of Private Banking Domains e.g.  Investment Market, Capital Markets, Trading etc. and Knowledge on products like Avaloq Stex, Corporate Actions, Payments, Settlements, Credit, Finance, Client Managment etc.
  • Lead Avaloq deliveries for stream and oversee end to end Avaloq development life cycle including Design, development, testing and deployment. Ensure code quality, documentation and compliance with development standards, , best practices and quality guidelines.
  • Work with stakeholders and other technology functions to ensure that end-to-end delivery of Projects, Minor Enhancements, RTB backlog are addressed using Agile and DevOps methodology.
  • Engineering lead role will provide leadership to the global engineering teams and will help build the required capability with direct reporting to the Head of Engineering Banking Platform.
  • Help drive the automation strategy with Test manager. Support in Recruitment, Talent Management, Retention, Risk Control, Governance and local administration.
  • Partner with Head of Engineering Banking Platform to ensure that there a robust location strategy for Avaloq workforce & build the capability according to the strategy.
  • Responsible for identifying risks and threats and deficiencies with deployed key controls. Ensures that risk, control and governance are adhered to by the team, mandatory trainings are conducted and attended by team members.

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Demonstrate a high degree of knowledge covering Avaloq, Agile, Devops and Team Management. Work with other stakeholders to ensure that delivery of all other functions are planned & executed in most efficient manner following agile & DevOps methodology.
  • Ensure that the team matures in Agile practices and the team collects necessary metrics to demonstrate the high level of release frequency, high quality standards and low production incidents trends
  • A strong understanding of the business/function that the individual support, including product areas which may include finance, trade, client reporting, cash management, risk and other functions in Private Banking
  • Technically hands-on to understand the Avaloq platform, implementation, interfaces, EOD and deployment automation. Can contribute to high level architecture and system design to ensure that all satellite system interfaces are designed in optimal way
  • Manage local team including recruitment, retention, training, talent management, career management and local administration. Single point of contact for all local Avaloq related team escalations including incidents resolution and management
  • Have a system engineering background and the ability to compare different solutions to meet a business requirement.A track record of delivering change which improves business effectiveness in sustainable ways, linked to an approved book of work
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills with experience of successfully influencing others.Built effective networks both internally and externally and created opportunities for others to work collaboratively 
  • A track record of guiding stakeholders around complex technical decisions with authority, even in times of ambiguity, considering the potential long term risks and implications and escalating to senior architects if required.
