We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Assistant Vice President/ Regional Security Manager 

In this role, you will:

  • The purpose of this role is to lead Protective Security (PS) delivery for HSBC Technology India and to act as the Regional Security Manager (RSM) for Central India, responding to and managing incidents involving criminal/terrorist activity, demonstrations/civil unrest, and other security events as directed and in liaison with the wider PS team. The role is accountable for containing and minimising impact on the safety of staff and customers, and the security and resilience of HSBC assets, including technology sites and critical infrastructure.
  • Provide support and guidance to the Branch Network, Commercial Centres, offices and other Head Offices on all security and safety related issues within India.
  • Review branches and Offices, office buildings, and data centers to ensure uniform maintenance and implementation of current Bank standards and procedures. Provide specialist security advice and guidance, including for “at risk” situations such as refurbishments.
  • Liaise and provide advice and guidance as and when required to other departments of the Bank, such as Health and Safety, Audit, Distribution Risk, Regional Directors Leadership or their support management teams.  Liaise with nominated external building or security contractors.
  • Proactively engage with colleagues to provide security support and guidance and ensure consistency with Global & local standards, with particular focus on Bank and risk posture, resilience expectations, and heightened control environments.
  • Arrange and deliver security workshops, Personal Safety & Security training and other relevant awareness training packages throughout the organization & Central India, including tailored sessions for colleagues and site-specific risks.
  • First line of defense Control Operator. Ensure all Protective Security Risk Assessments and Security Surveys are completed, and that appropriate security systems are deployed to protect assets.
  • Ensure all Protective Security related policies and procedures are reviewed and maintained in line with stakeholder feedback, control monitoring, and internal/external developments, including org-specific requirements.

 

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Minimum 12-18 years of physical security operations experience within a retail banking environment.
  • Degree-level education and/or previous experience as a Physical Security Manager in a multi-geographic organisation.
  • In-depth technical knowledge of physical security standards, electronic security systems, and peripheral components. Familiarity with advanced security technologies such as AI-based surveillance, biometric access controls, and integrated security platforms.
  • Proven ability to manage third-party security vendors and contracts effectively. Experience supporting security operations for technology offices, critical infrastructure, or data centre environments (desirable). Demonstrated awareness of data privacy and information security considerations in physical environments.
  • Strong understanding of RBI, SEBI, and other regulatory requirements impacting security operations. Knowledge of contractual labor laws, criminal law, legal and court procedures relevant to physical security.
  • Experience in managing audits and ensuring compliance with internal and external security standards. In-depth knowledge of the bank’s operational procedures, particularly in relation to physical security requirements.
  • Proven ability to make live risk assessments and evaluate solutions independently within tight timescales. Experience in crisis management and business continuity planning for physical security threats. Skilled in conducting incident investigations and preparing detailed reports for senior management and authorities.
  • Willingness and ability to travel within India at short notice for incident response and on-site support.
