HSBC Asset Management serves clients globally, managing a diverse investment portfolio across all asset classes. The Asset Management Technology function delivers innovative solutions for efficient and secure operations. We manage transformation programs across geographies, adapting to the dynamic Asset Management sector.

We seek a leader for Engineering Excellence, focusing on high-quality engineering practices and standards that allow the organisation to deliver top-tier solutions to meet business objectives.

In this role you will work on:

• Strategic Leadership in Engineering Excellence: Spearhead global engineering quality, optimizing resources and capabilities
• Development of Strategic Architecture: Focusing on architectural innovation, data management, and AI
• Technology Strategy and Roadmap Development: Collaborate with Business and Sub Value Streams to craft and execute a forward-thinking technology strategy
• Strategic Decision-Making and Ecosystem Engagement: Shape engineering decisions with a comprehensive understanding of the bank’s ecosystems, fostering global engagements with stakeholders
• Elevate Engineering Excellence: Enhance engineering capabilities, to embed high-quality engineering practices and standards.
• Partnership and Solution Delivery: Partner with Sub Value Stream leads to deliver innovative technology solutions, ensuring a superior, data-informed customer experience
• Advancement of DevOps, Agile, and AI Principles: Champion DevOps and agile methodologies, integrating AI capabilities for stable, secure, and adaptive platforms
• Standardize and Automate: Establish a standardized environment with automation for consistent delivery of high-quality code and data.
• Champion Agile Practices: Propel efficiencies by championing Agile methodologies and New Ways of Working, with a focus on flexibility and iterative progress.
• Mentor and Develop Talent: Mentor technology talent, nurturing engineering teams to achieve excellence.
• People Leadership and Workforce Development: Lead technical disciplines, focusing on building a future-ready engineering workforce, managing initiatives, ensuring compliance

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

• Over 18 years of relevant experience in driving engineering excellence & in delivering global technology solutions with industry direction and best-in-class solutions.
• Proven Track Record in Data and AI. Managed large-scale, data-driven systems providing Analytics, Workflows, Machine Learning, and Insights.
• Relevant experience in defining and implementing technology roadmaps and transformations.
• Ability to research and drive adoption of new technologies, staying abreast of trends. Implement best practices aligned to Future State of Architecture
• Experience in coding and should have worked on building applications
• Ability to lead and nurture a proficient global team through effective communication and direction.
• Previous experience in partnering with vendors to develop product roadmaps, focusing on optimal tech-stack choices is good to have
