What you will do:

Global Payment Solutions (“GPS”) is a strategically important business for HSBC and plays a key part in the Group’s global leadership in transaction banking, utilizing its powerful international network to connect east and west.

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Sales Manager, Institutional Sales, Global Payments Solutions based in Paris to lead the sales effort for our Global Banking clients with a focus on the insurers , Banks , Investors, and Public Sector segments.

Institutional Sales (previously known as FIG Sales) is a strategic sector for GB and as such brings with it a high level of visibility. Given the global nature of the portfolio, and the bank’s strategic growth ambition in this sector, the role offers excellent exposure to teams and stakeholders across the bank globally.

In this role you will:

  • Lead the sales effort for the Institutional Sales segment, working closely with Financial Institutions Group (FIG) and Institutional Clients Group (ICG) Relationship Managers, global sales partners and other stakeholders to develop and execute sub-sector strategies and client plans, generate leads and respond to inbound referrals.
  • Maintain and enhance existing revenue streams and develop new revenue streams by selling innovative GPS solutions to a defined portfolio of clients, and through new client acquisition.
  • Create deal teams to manage complex multi-country cash management transactions.
  • Manage pricing discussions and negotiations and conduct periodic pricing reviews.
  • Produce high quality pitch material and work with SPM on timely responses to RFIs and RFPs to secure key mandates.
  • Drive client engagement, sharing best practice cash and liquidity solutions.
  • Develop the bank's presence in the market, leveraging sector expertise to position HSBC as a leader in FI cash management. This includes organizing and participating in client and industry events and webinars.
  • Work with stakeholders across the bank including RMs, other HSBC products, and GPS Product Management, Client Implementation and Client Service to ensure a positive client experience.
  • Ensure the fair treatment of our customers is at the heart of everything we do, both personally and as an organization. You should apply if you have:

  • 1-2 years of experience working in relevant environment(s), i.e. Cash Management/Transaction Banking/relationship Management
  • Experience of the sector is an advantage but not essential.
  • Experience of business development and a knowledge of cash management products
  • Ability in identifying and meeting customer needs.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills with experience of successfully influencing others, negotiating effectively.
  • An understanding of risk management of all kinds and proven track record of ensuring own compliance
  • Experience of building relationships
  • Good interpersonal skills and comfortable working at all levels of seniority, both within the HSBC organization and with the senior management of the client 
  • Language: English & French
