What you will do:

The CTO Head of Infrastructure, Europe is responsible for IT Infrastructure across the region, building and maintaining an efficient and effective infrastructure function. Aligned to the CIB CTO structure, this role partners closely with the HCIB and HBCE Technology CIO and senior stakeholders across Europe to ensure infrastructure solutions meet regional needs while staying aligned to the bank’s overall strategy. The remit spans cloud platforms as well as core on-prem infrastructure alongside connectivity and collaboration services. A key focus is strengthening controls and governance in a regulated environment, including effective engagement with regulators and consistent adherence across a multi-country operating model. Success means secure, compliant and standardised infrastructure that improves customer experience, streamlines operations and supports major change programmes across the region.

In this role you will:

  • Own IT Infrastructure across Europe covering cloud platforms, on-prem infrastructure, connectivity and collaboration solutions
  • Manage a regional team of technology professionals aligned to the bank’s strategy and accountable for high-quality outcomes
  • Partner closely with the HCIB and HBCE Technology CIO and senior market stakeholders to align delivery to business priorities
  • Strengthen service management controls and governance including adherence across teams outside direct reporting lines
  • Ensure infrastructure solutions meet regulatory expectations and maintain effective engagement with regulators where required
  • Oversee a complex delivery agenda including divestitures, data centre migrations and modernisation initiatives

You should apply if you have:

  • Deep infrastructure experience across cloud platforms and on-prem environments in a large, regulated organisation
  • Strong service management capability including controls, compliance and governance disciplines
  • Experience operating in an active regulatory environment, including effective engagement with regulators
  • Experience overseeing a regional or multi-country technology organisation within a matrix structure
  • Ability to partner with CIO leadership and senior stakeholders to translate business requirements into clear technology outcomes
  • Vendor and third-party management capability, including managing significant expenditure and executive-level relationships
