We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Deal Execution Manager, SME Business Banking. This role will cover the Yorkshire, Humber and North-East Region.
The Deal Execution Manager role assists Relationship Managers (RMs) within SME Business Banking in building and delivering deals with customers by meeting existing and prospective customer needs. This role is responsible for identifying product and service opportunities, carrying out customer research, financial and credit analysis and helping the RM prepare and execute deals. Fundamental parts of the role include the timely execution of high value deals, co-ordination of credit applications and risk escalation management. In the absence of the RM, the role holder will act as the focal point for the relationship, products and services.
In this role you will:
- Drive and execute high value and complex deals to speed up time-to-decision and time-to-cash for both existing and new to Bank customers
- Optimise the potential value of client relationships, improve client engagement and deliver needs-based solutions and fair outcomes for customers
- Enable proactive client management by attending client meetings with Relationship Manager as necessary, and acting as the first point of contact for customers on deal credit-related enquiries.
- Support the RM with third party liaison, including discussions with external lawyers, advisors and valuers
- Collaborate with Group colleagues to deliver appropriate needs-based solutions for customers including account opening for New to Bank high value switchers.
- Work closely with Service Delivery and co-ordinate the end-to-end credit process, review their deliverables and resolve issues
- Ensure consistent application of Group Policy and adhere to regulatory, financial, and legal standards to minimise business and reputational risks
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- Understanding of Commercial Lending
- Knowledge of the UK market, understanding the interplay between geopolitics and commercial outcomes, and connectivity with a range of stakeholders (i.e. customers, regulators, and employees).
- Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment, meet role demands even in times of ambiguity, considering various perspectives and taking responsibility for outcomes.
- Excellent organisation with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities at the same time
- Proven stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate with both internal and external parties.
