HSBC Asset Management is looking for a Vice President, US Consultant Relations to set and deliver our strategy with US-based investment consultant firms. This role sits within the Americas Institutional Sales team and is focused on driving measurable commercial outcomes through deeper consultant engagement, strong internal coordination, and disciplined prioritization.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Set the US consultant relations strategy and align it to Americas Institutional Sales priorities.
  • Deliver agreed commercial outcomes (revenue growth, client acquisition and retention).
  • Build and execute consultant coverage plans across priority US/Americas consultant firms.
  • Increase consultant engagement and improve outcomes, including progress towards “buy” ratings where applicable.
  • Partner with Investments and Product to support consultant due diligence and remove roadblocks/escalate as needed.
  • Coordinate with specialist sales teams (e.g., Liquidity) to deliver relevant solutions to consultants.
  • Drive strong internal coordination across the institutional team and relevant HSBC Group stakeholders (e.g., CIB).
  • Manage competing stakeholder demands with clear prioritization and disciplined execution.
  • Maintain high standards of risk management, regulatory/FCC compliance, and cross-border adherence.
  • Ensure all client activity is documented and maintained in CRM with strong pipeline and performance reporting.

 

What you’ll need to succeed: 

  • Experienced in US Asset Management in consultant relations and/or institutional client-facing roles.
  • Strong knowledge of the US institutional market and investment consultant landscape.
  • Broad understanding of Asset Management product and solutions, with proven experience working with Alternative assets.
  • Proven track record of delivering revenue growth and measurable client outcomes.
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and build trusted relationships in a matrixed organization.
  • Strong strategic planning and prioritization skills, with clear commercial judgement.
  • Excellent communication skills for consultant engagement, due diligence, and internal alignment.
  • Strong execution discipline: CRM hygiene, pipeline management, and activity-to-outcome focus.
  • Sound understanding of industry trends and relevant regulations impacting US asset management.
  • Relevant regulatory licenses required SIE, 7, 66 (or 63 & 65); MBA/advanced degree and/or investment qualifications preferred.

Your final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and several variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.
