HSBC is seeking a Vice President to join its Asset Based Lending Group. HSBC’s Asset Based Lending Group supports the bank’s Middle Market, Large Corporate and Global Banking segments targeting domestic and international companies with annual revenues ranging from $50MM to $5BN.  Based in NYC, the group is looking for a talented individual to provide portfolio oversight and to work with Relationship Managers across the U.S. and globally to help meet client needs, while practicing safe and sound portfolio management.  

As our VP, Portfolio Manager, Asset Backed Lending, you will:

•Collaborate within the ABL Team, Relationship Managers and portfolio companies to analyze new lending opportunities and manage the portfolio of existing loans
•Provide oversight for all aspects of managing a portfolio of asset reliant and ABL facilities
•Conduct company and industry due diligence, collateral and financial analysis, financial modeling / projections, and legal diligence, identify transaction risks and mitigants, and prepare credit approval memoranda
•Prepare presentations and approval recommendations for internal sign-off and internal approvals
•Build and maintain relationships with internal and external parties, including relationship managers, the credit approval team, the collateral examination group, appraisers, legal counsel, management teams, and financial sponsors
•Assist the ABL Group with various projects
•Ensure compliance and operational risk controls in accordance with HSBC and regulatory standards and policies
•Optimize relations with regulators by addressing any issues
•Promote a positive environment that reflects the HSBC brand

You'll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:

•  Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or related field
•  Experience in asset based lending or general credit training preferred however not required
•  Experience in managing a portfolio of asset reliant transactions with varying levels of complexity
•  Strong planning, communication, analytical, and organizational skills
•  Ability to work well in a team environment, build personal relationships with current and potential clients, and demonstrate strong and succinct written and verbal communication   skills

Your final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and several variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.
