The HSBC Global Asset Management (AM) is investing in its Trading platform to leverage broker relationships and to optimise trading through technology, automation, standardisation and advanced analytics. At the same time, Trading is also moving from a purely local entity-based structure to a global functional team structure. The role holder will need to act in the capacity of a Trader and a subject matter expert with the expectation that they provide hands on participation in key projects from a technical perspective.

 

 

As our Trader, you will:

  • Execute trades across Fixed Income Assets (EM, US credit), FX ( Spot, Fwd, NDF, Options) and Derivatives (IRS, CDS..)
  • Monitor the smooth running of executions  
  • Develop close working relationships with Portfolio Managers, providing insight on market sentiment, trading environment, trading flows and price changes
  • Help produce Pre and Post trade Impact Cost analysis for Portfolio Managers and Clients
  • Actively contribute to the investment process
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with brokers, ensuring highest standard of professionalism and service
  • Analyze the quality of prices offered by our counterparties (Analyze impact costs)
  • Help evaluate and select brokers and execution venues
  • Capacity to multi-task and help on trading, reporting, and settlements

 

 

You´ll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:

  • Strong experience in Trading at a buy side or sell side institution 
  • Graduate Degree or masters educated with significant experience in investment management
  • Highly capable communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships esp FO teams (PM) and external counterparties
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of fixed income, trading practices in particular less liquid Fixed Income assets
  • Excellent IT skills; Excel, Bloomberg and trading platforms (Marketaxess, Tradeweb, Fxall…)
  • Strong understanding and interested in financial markets
  • Confident, articulate with the ability to thrive under pressure
  • Team oriented

The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and several variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.
