Security Manager respond to incidents involving criminal/terrorist activity, demonstrations/civil unrest as directed and in liaison with the rest of the Protective Security (PS) team manage any such incidents at a local level to contain and minimize impact on the safety of staff, customers and the security of the bank’s assets.
As our Protective Security Manager, you will:
- Provide security and safety support, guidance and advisory services to the Wealth Center Network, Commercial Centers and HSBC Head Offices, ensuring alignment with regional/global standards
- Conduct security reviews of wealth centers, office buildings and data centers to confirm maintenance, implementation and compliance with HSBC standards, including heightened-risk periods (e.g., refurbishments)
- Complete/oversee Protective Security Risk Assessments and Security Surveys, acting as a first line of defense to ensure appropriate physical/electronic controls protect staff, customers and assets
- Analyze site risk profiles, apply judgement to prioritize higher-risk locations for more frequent review, and assess/approve requests for dispensations to procedures
- Produce clear risk reports outlining vulnerabilities, operational impacts and cost-effective mitigation recommendations
- Monitor criminal/terrorism trends and emerging security technologies; share intelligence and recommendations with key stakeholders to ensure mitigations and training remain fit for purpose
- Deliver security awareness programs (e.g., Personal Safety & Security) across the US estate, including tailored training for “at risk” activities such as refurbishments and business-continuity scenarios
- Plan and coordinate training volumes with Local Directors/management and promote ongoing adherence to procedures through site visits and staff engagement
- Manage incident administration and assurance activities: support witness statements/court needs, oversee false alarm management and trend monitoring with the US Security Control Room, and maintain accurate central records and reports for control monitoring, audits and regulatory expectations
You´ll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:
- Experience within a retail security environment and depth knowledge of the Banks operational procedures particularly in relation to Protective Security requirements
- Spanish language skills (verbal & written) and strong interpersonal, influencing and communication skills including both verbal and written with the ability to persuade Senior Management of the course of action to be taken to counter perceived risks
- Degree level education and/or previous experience as a bank retail manager would be an advantage
- The ability to make live risk assessments and evaluate solutions on own initiative within tight timescales
- Computer skills to include MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint
- Track record of delivering projects or assignments in tight timeframes with minimal supervision
- Technical knowledge in relation to physical security standards, electronic security systems and peripheral components
- Conveniently located to cover wealth centers and Head Office buildings within geographic patch
- Willingness to travel within the US at short notice for incident response and clean driving license

The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and several variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.
