Primarily responsible for ensuring the accuracy of trade capture and trade lifecycle events via daily controls. End to end process knowledge and organizational skills are critical for success in this role, as responsibilities stretch across all aspects of the Derivatives trade lifecycle process. The specialist will have daily interaction with Front Office, Product Control, and other Operations functions. The role will have supervisory oversight of two offshore middle office trade control roles in Mexico. Must have the capacity to handle change and to participate in system testing and the implementation process.

 

As our Middle Office Trade Control Specialist, you will:

 

  • Assist in weekly clearing processes to facilitate reduction of the desk’s net notional exposure 
  • Maintain the HSBC Group Functional Instruction Manual (FIM) standards and ensure satisfactory or above audit ratings are achieved
  • Provide ongoing interaction with other operations groups on and offshore, trading, sales, compliance, credit, and technology teams to resolve issues arising from trade execution and maintenance
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and system development, as required
  • Provide oversight and point of contract for two offshore middle office trade control roles in Mexico
  • Assist with some daily tasks and backup coverage to middle office emerging markets desk support
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business activities of the jobholder, particularly Internal Controls and any Compliance policy including, inter alia, the Group Compliance policy
  • Responsible for the timely escalation of critical risk issues to management

 

You´ll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:

 

  • Undergraduate Degree
  • Knowledge of operational risk and controls
  • Microsoft Office Proficiency is a plus, especially macros
  • Experience in Derivative Operations or related field

The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.
