The US Communications team supports the commercial outcomes of HSBC’s businesses and strengthens the firm’s reputation with key stakeholders.

Within the US Communications team, the internal communications function is focused on strengthening leadership visibility, strategic clarity, and colleague engagement across the US, with a particular emphasis on enabling senior executives to lead through modern, high-impact communications. A core priority is delivering a cohesive communications program that makes effective use of a broad range of channels, platforms, and formats to reach colleagues in more dynamic and engaging ways.

Reporting to the US Head of Internal Communications, the Internal Communications Manager will be responsible for supporting and executing impactful, creative and insight-led internal communications strategies that align with the strategic priorities of HSBC’s US business and strengthen employee advocacy and engagement.

As our Internal Communications Manager, US you will:

  • Support the implementation of effective employee and leadership communications programs that align with the US and global strategy
  • Manage US internal communications channels 
  • Lead end-to-end execution of live and hybrid events (including town halls), including planning, speaker support, run-of-show, logistical and production coordination, and post-event follow-up
  • Drive innovation in digital platforms to deliver high-impact, engaging communications
  • Act as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders, providing practical guidance, best practices, and messaging support to engage colleagues
  • Support senior executives with briefing materials, key messages, Q&A preparation, and narrative development 
  • Oversee measurement of internal campaigns, sourcing employee feedback and providing insight into communications effectiveness
  • Develop strong relationships across the global Communications team and key stakeholders to facilitate successful implementation of communications programs
  • Source and provide locally relevant stories to feed global channels
  • Contribute to a collaborative team culture by sharing ideas, improving ways of working, and supporting colleagues during peak moments

You´ll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:

  • Experience in Communications, with a focus on Internal/Employee Communications
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to tailor messages for different audiences and seniority levels
  • Strong event management capabilities (planning, stakeholder coordination, speaker support, logistics/production)
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and confidence working with senior leaders
  • Proficiency in digital tools, content management systems, analytics platforms, and video production technologies
  • Experience in the finance/banking industry preferred but not necessary
  • High attention to detail. Calm, organized, and solutions-focused under time pressure
  • Curious, proactive, and committed to continuous improvement. Positive, flexible approach when priorities shift

Your final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and several variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.
