We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Head of Recovery and Resolution Planning.
In this role, you will:
- Own the core positioning of Recovery and Resolution (R&R) strategy meeting local and global regulatory and internally set expectations and fully reflecting the entities’ and global business models
- Direct and navigate the R&S teams covering entities in the US (Holding company, Bank and Broker Dealer), Mexico, Chile and Brazil. You will have responsibility for setting the strategy for R&R, ensuring the policy is effectively implemented from a first line perspective
- Collaborate and partner with stakeholders across entities, functions and businesses to manage the end-to-end processes involved in R&R management. This will include engagement with regulators, stakeholders in the Treasury team, legal and compliance departments, the COO office and the second line. To enable this, you will need to work with those stakeholders to align existing practices, with a significant global book of work already underway
- Carry responsibility for the interlock with Risk Strategy in the alignment of Stress Testing with recovery and resolution planning, including analysis of likely bail-in scenarios and balance sheet restructuring
- Improve and develop good relationship with regulators. Liaise with relevant stakeholders within IT, Entities, Global Businesses and Global Functions (e.g. business lines like MSS FRM, Global Risk Analytics, Wholesale Credit Risk, entity CFO’s etc.)
- Review of the operating bank valuations and financial data in respect of financial resources (capital, liquidity, funding) impact on the wider Group under BAU conditions as well as required to describe potential disposal options under recovery or resolution
- Require strong communication skills to lead that team and ensure connectivity with regional and global colleagues. You will need to be able to interact and communicate confidently with senior stakeholders, including the CFO, CRO and members of the ALCO, Risk Committee and Board
- Be responsible for continuous optimization and enhancement of the processes. Define and implement understanding of good governance and implement effective approvals process
The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and several variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- Demonstrable experience of regulatory regimes governing capital, liquidity and more specifically Recovery and Resolution
- Have experience of strategically directing the end-to-end processes involved in Recovery and Resolution
- Have a varied broad-based banking experience in financial services including a deep understanding of a range of treasury topics, including specific liquidity experience and a solid understanding of Broker Dealer activity
- Have experience of directing, engaging, motivating and leading a team
- Be collaborative, engaging, credible and methodical; being able to bring the numbers, policy, strategy, initiatives and narrative to life (e.g. presenting management information to a wide range of stakeholders/ senior management)
- Have experience in building and maintaining strong relationships with senior stakeholders (all levels of seniority, businesses, and geographies)
The preferred base location for this role is New York and with a hybrid working pattern.
