The Community Development Relationship Manager originates and manages a portfolio of community development loans, manages internal and external stakeholder relationships, and ensures the Company achieves its Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) goals through meeting the unique credit needs of low to moderate income communities within assigned areas.

As the Community Development Relationship Manager, you will:

• Support the growth of the community development loan portfolio by sourcing, underwriting and closing high quality CRA-qualified lending opportunities. This includes customer negotiation and loan structuring, borrower and market due diligence, operational  and financial analysis, legal document review and compliance requirements.

• Complete high quality credit memos. 

•  Manage assigned credit portfolio to maintain full compliance, including monitoring reporting and covenant requirements, completing annual reviews, ensuring regulatory compliance and resolving all issues related to the assigned portfolio.

• Generate pipeline transaction opportunities to ensure the department meets annual goals in the current CRA exam cycle. Represent the Company at community-sponsored meetings and events including advisory, board and loan committees and fundraising events. 

• Establish and maintain relationships with community groups to assess community credit needs, surface community concerns as they arise and coordinate and facilitate Company responses from within and outside the department.

• Lead all negotiations with clients and/or agent banks. 

• Interact with credit approvers, executing the approval and closing process with autonomy and in full compliance with all Community Development and Bank policies and procedures. 

• Collaborate with other Company units and community development lenders as required to meet Company CRA goals. 

• Provide superior customer service. 

• Assist in developing new programs, products and/or delivery systems to meet community credit needs

 

You´ll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in business, finance, public administration, related field or equivalent experience. 

• Extensive experience in banking or equivalent, demonstrating a strong understanding of standard bank policies, procedures, regulatory and compliance requirements, or relationship management.

• Proven credit underwriting experience.

• Bank credit training or equivalent experience. 

• Strong decision-making, planning and organizational skills.

• Strong communication, project and time management and presentation skills; including platform speaking and development of presentations. 

• Excellent negotiation and analytical skills. 

• Strong knowledge of bank loan and investment products, particularly Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) industry products. 

• Knowledge of the community development industry, Community Reinvestment Act and banking regulations.

• Ability to multi-task and work collaboratively across functional departments to accomplish business goals.

• Ability to travel.

Your final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and several variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.
