We are seeking a Director level Cash Equity Hedge Fund Sales professional to join our Equity Sales business in New York. The role focuses on covering sophisticated institutional investors, with an emphasis on hedge funds, and a specialist tilt either toward event driven / merger arbitrage situations or the technology and/or health care sectors. The successful individual will drive idea generation, client penetration, and revenue across the cash equity platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as senior sales coverage for a portfolio of hedge fund and institutional clients within Markets – Equity Sales
- Build and deepen relationships at the Portfolio Manager and senior analyst level
- Distribute differentiated cash equity ideas in events/merger arb and/or tech and health care sectors
- Provide high quality market color, flow and positioning insights, and coordinate closely with trading, research, derivatives and prime services
- Develop and execute account plans, delivering against revenue and wallet share targets
- Uphold the highest standards of conduct, risk management, and regulatory compliance
Skills Competencies
- Institutional equity sales or research sales experience on the sell side, preferably within a Markets / trading floor environment
- Strong existing relationships with hedge fund PMs and senior analysts; event driven / merger arb or tech/health care fund coverage a plus
- Deep understanding of event driven / merger arb frameworks and/or strong fundamental knowledge in technology and health care sectors
- Proven track record of originating and monetizing equity ideas and meeting revenue targets
- Excellent communication skills, strong commercial acumen, and ability to operate in a fast-paced Markets environment
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced qualifications (e.g. CFA) an advantage
- Regulatory licenses FINRA Series 7 and 63 or ability to obtain within required timeframe
- Based in, or willing to relocate to, New York, NY

Your final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and several variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.
