The purpose of this role is to minimize the risk/consequences of criminal activity against staff and the bank’s assets, responding to branches/locations that have suffered a security related incident and assist in the aftermath and minimize the impact to the operation of the location, attending where necessary and facilitate all staff to follow good security practice within the work environment and when travelling abroad

As our Area Security Manager you will:

  • Respond to incidents involving criminal/terrorist activity, demonstrations/civil unrest as directed and in liaison with the rest of the Protective Security (PS) team manage any such incidents at a local level to contain and minimize impact on the safety of staff, customers and the security of the bank’s assets.
  • Provide support and guidance to the Wealth Center Network, Commercial Centers and other HSBC Head Offices on all security and safety related issues.
  • Review HSBC Wealth Centers, office buildings and data centers to ensure uniform maintenance, implementation of, and compliance with current Bank standards and procedures by providing specialist security advice and guidance, including “at risk” situations, such as refurbishments.
  • Liaise with and provide advice and guidance as and when required to other departments of the Bank, such as Health and Safety, Audit, Distribution Risk, Local Directors or their support management teams.
  • Proactively engage with colleagues to provide security support and guidance and ensure consistency with regional standards.
  • Arrange and deliver security workshops, Personal Safety & Security training and other relevant awareness training packages throughout the US.
  • First line of defense Control Operator. Ensure all Protective Security Risk Assessments and Security Surveys are completed, and that appropriate security systems are deployed to protect assets.
  • Ensure all Protective Security related policies and procedures are reviewed and maintained in line with stakeholder feedback, control monitoring, and internal/external developments.

You´ll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:

  • Solid demonstrated experience within a retail security environment
  • Degree level education and/or previous experience as a bank retail manager would be an advantage
  • Technical knowledge in relation to physical security standards, electronic security systems and peripheral components
  • In depth knowledge of the Banks operational procedures particularly in relation to Protective Security requirements
  • Computer skills to include MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint
  • Excellent presentation skills with previous experience delivering training workshops to a diverse audience
  • Customer focused with the ability to interface with all levels of management
  • Good organisational and planning skills
  • Prior Law Enforcementn experience preferred

The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a few variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.
