HSBC’s Capital Markets & Advisory (CMA) division partners with corporate and financial sponsor clients on high-impact financing and strategic decisions.
CMA’s corporate finance advisory services deliver financing-led investment banking solutions across areas such as debt capital markets, leveraged and acquisition finance, convertible and hybrid securities, project and infrastructure finance, risk management, and structured finance.
CMA supports clients through event-driven situations, including acquisition financing and other strategic transactions, where HSBC can provide differentiated financing outcomes.
The role spans both Sector and Strategic Corporate Finance, providing broad exposure across industry sectors and corporate finance solutions.
Sector and Strategic Corporate Finance teams are at the forefront of strategic client dialogue; shaping conversations early, then mobilizing the right products and partners to deliver financing-led capital markets and advisory solutions for corporate and private equity sponsor clients.
You’ll work across and gain exposure to all sectors, partnering closely with sector and product specialists across CMA. You’ll support both origination and execution, producing rigorous analysis and client materials that shape strategic dialogue and drive live transactions.
Analysts support key workstreams, providing rigorous financial modeling, research, and presentation support to senior bankers and deal teams.
The role will be based in New York City, with an expectation of in-office attendance from Monday through Friday.
As our Analyst, Sector and Strategic Corporate Finance, you will:
- Build and maintain high-quality financial analysis and models, including:
- Three-statement operating models, merger models, and LBO-style frameworks (where relevant)
- Scenario and sensitivity analysis to support financing and strategic outcomes
- Develop corporate finance analyses including peer benchmarking, valuation and capital structure considerations
- Produce valuations using DCF analysis, trading comparables and transaction comparables (and other approaches as appropriate)
- Research companies using public filings, investor materials, earnings commentary and market data sources
- Support idea generation by identifying potential M&A targets, partners and strategic alternatives leveraging HSBC’s international platform
- Prepare client-facing materials (e.g., pitchbooks, management presentations and transaction documentation support materials)
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders across a multi-product investment banking platform to support a holistic, financing-led coverage model
- Track macro themes and market dynamics across sectors to ensure client dialogue is timely and relevant
You´ll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:
- Experience or previous internship in investment banking (or closely related corporate finance experience), with strong analytical foundations
- Demonstrated ability to build and review financial models and valuations to a high standard, with excellent attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate analysis into clear client-ready messaging
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Familiarity with market and company intelligence tools (e.g., FactSet, Capital IQ, Bloomberg)
- FINRA licenses: SIE, Series 79, Series 63, or expected to acquire required licenses within 120 days of joining

Your final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and several variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.
