We are seeking an ambitious individual to join our CIB team within Operations - Cheque Processing team to focus on prompt, accurate processing of cheque-related documentation in line with procedures and compliance guidelines. You’ll undertake complex processing work, interpret instructions correctly and help the section meet agreed service level agreements and cut-off times. The role plays an important part in reducing errors, identifying common frauds or irregular transactions and taking appropriate action in line with procedures. You’ll also help maintain strong document management, data retention and business continuity practices. Success means high-quality processing with minimal errors, efficient handling of volume and timely resolution of issues raised by internal partners and verification or review teams. You’ll share knowledge with colleagues and step in to support smooth day-to-day operations when needed.
In this role, the key responsibilities are as below:
• Process complex cheque processing activities accurately and within agreed Service Level Agreements
• Interpret customer and internal instructions correctly and complete related documentation promptly
• Prioritize tasks to meet stringent cut-off times while maintaining quality and accuracy
• Identify common frauds, errors and irregular transactions and take action in line with procedures
• Maintain awareness of money laundering and other legal and regulatory requirements in day-to-day work
• Follow document management, data retention and business continuity requirements
• Record productivity and efficiency accurately in the E-TCS system
• Support colleagues with reference to technical issues and provide cover for other staff when required
To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:
• Apply strong knowledge of operational procedures within a processing environment
• Use working knowledge of local regulatory and compliance requirements, including money laundering awareness
• Communicate clearly in English, both written and spoken, to resolve queries and process instructions
• Deliver high-quality customer service and resolve issues in line with Customer Experience Standards
• Manage planning, prioritization and time management to meet service level agreements and cut-off times
• Use computer literacy to support accurate processing, reporting and document handling
• Maintain structured approach to complex processing, checking and approvals with attention to detail
• Collaborate with colleagues by sharing knowledge and supporting team coverage when needed
