We are seeking an ambitious individual to join our CIB team as an Assistant Branch Manager. This role sits within Branch Operations for Corporate clients in Oman with a focus on delivering effective day-to-day branch operations and back office support for personal and corporate customers. The role is accountable for operational control across key areas including cash treasury and teller services, trade counter activity, administration, audits and records management. Success means consistent service quality at the counters, strong operational risk management and timely closure of audit and control points. You’ll oversee workflows, allocation of responsibilities and authorised limits to improve efficiency while maintaining required standards. You’ll also support digital migration by reducing low value counter transactions and improving digital engagement. Alongside this you’ll identify cross-selling opportunities by sending quality referrals to Sales teams.
In this role, the key responsibilities are as below:
- Oversee day-to-day branch operations and back office support services to maintain service quality and operational control
- Manage cash treasury and teller controls including custody responsibilities and oversight of cash movements to reduce shortages and incidents
- Govern scanning and daily reconciliation of customer payment instructions and Trade documents in the correct queues
- Review workflows, division of work and authorised limits to improve efficiency and service standards in line with branch objectives
- Monitor audit reports, exception reports and control checks then coordinate remediation to reduce findings and operational losses
- Own monthly suspense account balancing and AssureNet approvals including final certification and exception sign-off
- Manage Business Recovery Plan activities plus Health and Fire Safety drills and branch administration plans and records requirements
To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:
- Provide trade counter support including receiving instructions, releasing documents under procedure and coordinating with Services teams
- Bring proven experience supervising branch operations with a focus on service quality, efficiency and operational control
- Apply end-to-end knowledge of cash services including treasury and teller processes and risk mitigation
- Demonstrate working knowledge of trade products and associated back office processing including trade counter procedures
- Handle document scanning and queue management disciplines
- Apply strong operational risk and internal control awareness including timely implementation of internal and external audit points
- Communicate fluently in English with clear written and verbal communication in a customer-facing environment
- Use effective listening, probing and problem-solving skills to resolve customer enquiries and departmental issues end-to-end
- Support records management requirements including maintaining schedules and local procedures in line with policy expectations
