Role Purpose

As a Product Manager – Investments, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of HSBC’s investment product suite, including Mutual Funds, Portfolio Management Services (PMS), and Alternative Investment Funds (AIF), across both onshore and GIFT City platforms. You will drive product strategy, lifecycle management, and distribution initiatives, ensuring alignment with HSBC’s values, regulatory requirements, and customer needs. This role requires close collaboration with internal stakeholders, external partners, and regulatory bodies to deliver best-in-class investment solutions for our clients.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  1. Product Strategy & Development
  1. Develop and execute the product strategy for Mutual Funds, PMS, and AIFs, covering both onshore and GIFT City offerings.
  2. Identify market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to inform product enhancements and new launches.
  3. Liaise with asset management companies, PMS/AIF providers, and other partners to curate a robust product shelf.

 

  1. Product Lifecycle Management
  1. Oversee the entire product lifecycle: onboarding, due diligence, documentation, training, and ongoing monitoring.
  2. Ensure all products comply with regulatory guidelines (SEBI, RBI, IFSCA for GIFT City) and HSBC’s internal policies.
  3. Regularly review product performance and recommend changes to optimize the portfolio.

 

  1. Distribution & Sales Enablement
  1. Design and implement go-to-market strategies for investment products, including sales campaigns, marketing collateral, and digital journeys.
  2. Conduct product training and provide subject matter expertise to frontline teams.
  3. Support relationship managers and investment counsellors with client pitches and queries.

 

  1. Stakeholder Management
  1. Collaborate with Compliance, Legal, Risk, Operations, and Technology teams to ensure seamless product delivery and risk management.
  2. Engage with external partners (AMCs, PMS/AIF managers, GIFT City entities) for product onboarding and ongoing relationships.

 

  1. Governance & Reporting
  1. Maintain robust MIS and dashboards for product performance, sales, and risk metrics
  2. Prepare and present periodic product reviews to senior management and governance forums.
  3. Ensure timely and accurate regulatory reporting.

 

Qualifications & Experience

 

  1. MBA/CA/CFA or equivalent post-graduate qualification preferred.
  2. 8+ years of experience in investment product management, preferably in a bank or wealth management firm.
  3. Strong understanding of Mutual Funds, PMS, AIFs, and GIFT City regulations.
  4. Experience in product due diligence, onboarding, and lifecycle management.
  5. Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills.
  6. Analytical mindset with proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization tools.

Mandatory to successfully complete Anti-Money Laundering and Sanctions training and post-course assessment, as required
