Job Introduction
The Global Marketing function is focused on supporting the strategic and revenue growth priorities of the Bank. The function focuses on understanding customers and the identification, development and execution of Marketing strategies, campaigns and activities that support and strengthen the HSBC brand, support the drive for revenue and increase customer value and satisfaction in order to meet agreed targets and objectives at both a global and market level.
This role will be responsible to bring new Brand partners, create long term Intellectual properties(IPs), strategy and framework for delivery of all events, third party sponsorships and the coordination of all activities to drive Brand recall, acquire new customers and engage with existing customers for HSBC Wealth & Personal Banking business in India.
Principal Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of HSBC India’s brand partnership strategy to strengthen brand equity, deepen customer engagement and drive commercial outcomes across priority businesses.
- Identify, evaluate and negotiate strategic partnerships across sports, entertainment, fashion, travel, luxury, culture, technology and lifestyle that enhance HSBC’s brand proposition and create differentiated customer value.
- Build and manage a portfolio of signature HSBC-owned intellectual properties (IPs) and flagship experiences that reinforce the bank’s positioning and support customer acquisition, engagement and retention.
- Develop integrated content strategies that amplify campaigns across paid, owned and earned channels, ensuring consistency of brand messaging and measurable business impact.
- Lead the conceptualisation and delivery of premium client experiences, large-scale events and sponsorship activations, ensuring world-class execution and alignment with HSBC’s global brand standards.
- Work closely with business teams including Wealth & Premier Banking, Credit Cards, Commercial Banking and Corporate Communications to translate business priorities into impactful marketing programmes.
- Collaborate with global, regional and local stakeholders to identify opportunities to localise global partnerships and maximise their relevance for the Indian market.
- Establish strategic relationships with leading rights holders, agencies, creators, media partners and event organisers to unlock innovative collaboration opportunities.
- Drive end-to-end management of sponsorships and partnerships, including commercial negotiations, governance, activation planning, legal and compliance coordination, measurement and reporting.
- Lead content creation across multiple formats including digital, social, experiential, video and thought leadership, ensuring relevance to target customer segments and HSBC’s brand positioning.
- Develop measurement frameworks and KPIs to evaluate partnership effectiveness, event ROI, customer engagement, brand health and commercial impact, using insights to optimise future investments.
- Manage annual budgets, procurement processes and agency partnerships to ensure efficient allocation of resources and delivery against agreed objectives.
- Ensure all marketing activities comply with HSBC’s governance, regulatory, legal, risk and brand requirements.
- Stay abreast of emerging consumer trends, cultural movements, technology innovations and partnership opportunities to continuously evolve HSBC India’s marketing capabilities.
- Mentor and develop team members while fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, accountability and execution excellence.

Role Requirements / Qualification / Experience
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business priorities into differentiated brand, partnership and experiential marketing strategies.
- Proven capability to originate, negotiate and manage high-value strategic partnerships with leading brands, rights holders, agencies and commercial partners.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience demonstrating measurable business outcomes, customer acquisition, engagement and return on marketing investment.
- Deep understanding of affluent and wealth customer segments, premium consumer behaviour and luxury marketing.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior business leaders across local, regional and global teams.
- Demonstrated leadership in delivering integrated marketing programmes across digital, content, events, sponsorships and customer experiences.
- Strong negotiation, influencing and contract management capabilities.
- Experience managing multiple agencies, production partners and cross-functional teams in a highly matrixed organisation.
- Ability to balance creativity with governance, regulatory requirements, risk management and brand compliance.
- Strong analytical mindset with experience using customer insights and campaign performance metrics to drive optimisation.
- Exceptional communication, presentation and executive storytelling skills.
- Ability to lead through ambiguity while managing multiple high-profile initiatives simultaneously.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications or a related discipline.
- MBA or Postgraduate qualification from a reputed institution preferred.
- Professional certifications in Marketing, Brand Strategy, Digital Marketing or Sponsorship Management would be advantageous.
- Strong understanding of financial services marketing and regulatory requirements is desirable.
Experience
- 12–15+ years of progressive experience in strategic marketing, brand management, partnerships, sponsorships, content or experiential marketing.
- Demonstrated success in leading large-scale integrated marketing campaigns with measurable commercial impact.
- Proven track record of developing and commercialising strategic partnerships across sectors such as sports, entertainment, travel, luxury, fashion, technology or lifestyle.
- Experience leading premium customer experiences, flagship events and sponsorship activations from strategy through execution.
- Experience managing significant marketing budgets and driving optimisation based on ROI and performance metrics.
- Strong experience working with senior executives, external partners and global stakeholders.
- Prior experience within banking, financial services, premium consumer brands or multinational organisations is highly preferred.
- Experience leading and developing high-performing marketing teams in a matrix environment.
- Demonstrated ability to build and scale proprietary brand IPs that enhance customer engagement and brand differentiation.
Pro-tip : Familiarity with AI-enabled tools is an advantage.
