BRIEF OF DEPARTMENT
The Institutional Sales team is responsible for increasing the Assets Under Management (AUM) for HSBC Asset Management (India) (AMIN) by reaching out to Group Entities, Mid/Small Corporates, MNCs, family Offices, Banks, Insurance Companies, etc. The focus would be mainly to sell the Debt Funds across all segments of the yield curve, along with Equity and Hybrid funds, SIF (Specialised Investment Fund), Portfolio Management Services (PMS) and Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs). In addition to directly reaching out to the target segment, the incumbent would be expected to maintain a good working relationship with the large institutional distributors and Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) colleagues.
JOB DESCRIPTION
While the primary responsibility of the position would be to generate AUM sales from the institutional segment from the area, the focus will also be on active dissemination of information and feedback to design and offer products that would be viable investment propositions.
This critical position requires someone who combines selling skills as well as key relationship management skills to service top notch organizations and demanding treasury teams.
Additionally, the role would also have the following responsibilities:
- Increase market share for HSBC products amongst existing clients of Mumbai
- Expand the existing client base of Mumbai
- Relationship Management with distributors’ and key institutional clients of Mumbai
- Communicate portfolio strategy, and market views periodically, liaise with the investment team on a regular basis to work on portfolio strategies for corporates and institutions
- Enhance customer engagement (also use tools of seminars, training workshops and the like)
- Ensure that the sales targets allocated for Ahmedabad are achieved
- Contribute to customer service initiatives and work closely with Service/Operations team
- Liaise closely with HSBC Customer Group to ensure synergies are leveraged for greater share of business with the Group
SKILLS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- A good understanding of mutual fund products and institutional client needs.
- Strong selling skills & commercial acumen
- Good verbal and written communication, leadership and interpersonal skills
- Graduate/Post-Graduate with 7-18 years of experience, preferably in institutional sales
- Valid NISM certification
- Mandatory to successfully complete Anti-Money Laundering and Sanctions training and post-course assessment, as required.
- Pro-tip : Familiarity with AI-enabled tools is an advantage.
