Role Summary

 

The Senior Manager - Investment Product Development will be responsible for leading product strategy, managing the investment product lifecycle, driving partner engagements, and ensuring commercial delivery of investment solutions across platforms. This is a cross-functional role involving close coordination with asset managers, marketing, digital, compliance, analytics, and frontline distribution.

Required Experience & Qualifications

 

Education:

  • Postgraduate degree (MBA/PGDM) in Finance, Economics, or related field
  • Professional certifications such as CFA / CAIA / CFP preferred

 

Pro-tip : Familiarity with AI-enabled tools is an advantage.  

 

Experience:

  • 8–12 years in investment product development, product strategy, or wealth management roles
  • Strong understanding of mutual funds, PMS, AIFs, structured products, and offshore investments
  • Experience working with asset management companies, wealth platforms, or private banks
  • Prior exposure to regulatory frameworks (SEBI, RBI) and product compliance desirable

Core Responsibilities

 

1. Product Strategy & Lifecycle Management

  • Define and execute the product roadmap across mutual funds, PMS, AIFs, and structured products
  • Track emerging trends, client needs, regulatory changes, and global best practices
  • Own the product lifecycle from ideation, due diligence, onboarding, training, and ongoing review

 

2. Asset Manager & Partner Engagement

  • Build deep relationships with leading domestic and global asset managers
  • Drive negotiation of commercial terms, distribution arrangements, and exclusivity opportunities
  • Curate differentiated strategies aligned to HSBC client segments

 

3. Commercialization & Revenue Management

  • Drive product-led revenue growth and P&L ownership across investment categories
  • Work closely with frontline teams to ensure optimal product penetration and share-of-wallet
  • Monitor performance and continuously optimize product mix

 

4. Go-to-Market & Distribution Enablement

  • Collaborate with Marketing & Digital teams to develop GTM campaigns, content, and visibility
  • Design sales enablement material including fund notes, whitepapers, and training decks
  • Lead product training sessions across branches and RMs

 

5. Data, Analytics & Client Insights

  • Partner with Data & Analytics teams to derive actionable product insights and client segmentation
  • Monitor flows, wallet share, revenue yields, and client preferences
  • Develop dashboards to track KPIs and campaign effectiveness

 

6. Forecasting & Strategic Planning

  • Contribute to annual business planning, revenue forecasting, and product pipeline reviews
  • Align investment product strategy with broader WPB goals

 

7. Governance & Risk Oversight

  • Ensure compliance with internal governance processes, suitability norms, and regulatory guidelines
  • Coordinate with Legal, Compliance, Risk, and Product Governance teams

 

8. Team Development & Mentoring

  • Mentor junior team members and interns on product development frameworks
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and cross-functional collaboration
