We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join  the  Banking team in Mumbai as  Senior Corporate Banking Manager

 

Principal Responsibilities

 

·            Acting as a complex debt specialist for the IMM team and assist relationship managers in the origination and execution of corporate event transactions, including acquisition, refinancing and cross-border funding structures.

·            Positioning as the IMM conduit to Capital Financing specialists, particularly in relation to Leveraged & Syndicated Finance, Debt Capital Markets, Sustainable Finance and Corporate Advisory teams.

·            Working on new initiatives and products to build out additional capabilities

·            Serving as an integral part of a centre of excellence to assist with technical skill development across the broader IMM business

·            Assist HSBC to attain its strategic growth targets in line with Portfolio Returns target of the bank  and undertake cross sell initiatives to achieve the same. Focus would be to acquire and grow  banking wallets in  companies with international footprint.

·            To liaise with various internal stakeholders  (Risk, CDT OPS, GPS, GTS, etc) and ensure efficient servicing of corporate customers and capturing of wallet opportunities

·            Ensure timely compliance with all FCC requirements for the portfolio. Ensure implementation of all audit and regulatory recommendations and constant monitoring/ review of the assigned portfolio.

·            Demonstrate leadership in all aspects of your role, set exemplary standards, values and behaviours consistent with our Group values.

·            Protect the reputation and integrity of the HSBC Brand. This should be evidenced by overall conduct ("do the right thing") and by proactively demonstrating active compliance with both the letter and the spirit of applicable laws, regulations, internal policies, procedures and Global Standards together with the management of risks including , but not limited to Credit, Operational, Regulatory (including Financial Crime), Reputational and Sustainability.  Demonstrating through escalating and speaking up, a proactive approach to identifying when things go wrong or when potential risk issues are identified

·            Proactively identify financial crime risks (AML, Sanctions and AB&C) utilizing available tools / support functions as appropriate and undertaking all requisite actions to mitigate/eradicate unacceptable risk.

 

Qualifications

 

         CA/MBA with relevant experience (min 7 years ) in a client management and corporate banking role.

         Sound commercial banking skills including knowledge of credit and lending , trade  and treasury products ,key market sectors, local regulatory environment, financial analysis etc.

         Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders

         Ability to work on fast turnarounds, tight deadlines & handle competing priorities

 

Pro-Tip: Familiarity with AI-enabled tools is an advantage.

 

Additional Information:

 

·            Mandatory to successfully complete Anti-Money Laundering and Sanctions training and post-course assessment, as required.

 

·            As per the RBI mandated Capacity Building Certification Requirement for Bank, this role requires the candidate to have the required certification / equivalent qualification before the selection for the above role.
