Business Description:
This function brings together distinct specialisms to drive greater connectivity in how we manage engagement with key stakeholders for HSBC.
• Finance teams provide the bank with internal and external financial reporting, forecasting, controls oversight, and stress testing expertise. Specialist areas also manage HSBC’s worldwide tax affairs, group treasury needs, and events for investors and analysts.
• Sustainability teams lead the bank’s work to support sustainable growth in a global economy, including an ambitious plan to prioritise financing that supports the transition to net zero.
• Group External Communications teams – including colleagues from Media Relations, ESG Communications and Group Reputation – deliver communication strategies that support HSBC’s strategic objectives, protect our reputation and build trust among our stakeholders.
SVP FP&A
We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join Finance as part of the Finance, Sustainability and Group External Communications team.
Job Introduction
Finance is integral to HSBC’s purpose and strategy, playing a valued role in managing costs and deploying capital in the most effective way. The Finance team partners with the business to provide trusted insights and forward-looking analysis; accuracy; efficiency and control to frame and influence business decisions. India Finance is currently seeking an experienced professional to be a part of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) in INM Finance.
The FP&A team provides meaningful analysis of financials and performance, challenging and supporting the business in their initiatives to meet their strategic objectives.
Principal Responsibilities
- As part of the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team provide insightful analysis on the business performance through meaningful analysis of key drivers of P&L and Balance Sheet
- Provide monthly /periodical analysis and greater details of underlying costs and drivers with focus on identifying cost control initiatives.
- Provide analysis (BAU and ad-hoc) to OPCO and senior management as required from time to time.
- Support and facilitate the Financial Resource Plan (FRP) process as required.
- Engagement with the senior Finance members, Business and Function teams to understand their key business/cost drivers.
- Manage the periodic forecasting process with a view to ensure that the country forecasts are accurately represented in the system, thus enabling a fair assessment of the forecast for the year at an India level.
- Engagement with teams in the GFOC (Global Finance Operations Centre), Central Finance and ASP regional FP&A to provide consistent and seamless support.
- Identifying opportunities for efficiencies through digitalization of information.
- Act as gatekeepers for CMO and CMS costs – analyse and work with functions/accounting teams to correctly reflect initiatives in the financials.
- Maintain HSBC internal control standards including the timely implementation of the internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
Role Requirements / Education Qualifications / Certifications / Experience:
- Post graduate qualifications of CA, MBA, CFA etc. preferred but not mandatory
- 5 to 8 years of experience and subject matter expertise in financial reporting / analysis
- Effective analytical skills, being able to contextualize data into business insights and conclusions
- Good spoken and written communication

Additional Notes :
- Familiarity with AI-enabled tools is an advantage.
- Mandatory to successfully complete Anti-Money Laundering and Sanctions training and post-course assessment, as required
