GCOO Operations is a leader in the development of services and processes that are designed around the customer and enable the firm to demonstrate to regulators that its processes and ways of working will deliver consistently high standards of compliance. Every day, customers all over the world are paying bills, buying homes and setting up companies and every day, Global Operations teams are making sure all this happens smoothly.
The role holder will serve as a key liaison between the bank and various law enforcement agencies, ensuring the accurate and timely provision of information as requested by these authorities. This position requires close collaboration with Lines of Business (LOBs), support functions, and second line of defence stakeholders such as Legal and Governance Affairs (LGA), Financial Crime Compliance (FCC), Regulatory Compliance (RC), and Tax.
In addition to acting as the single point of contact (SPOC) for risk and control matters within the operations team, the role holder will:
- Oversee the end-to-end process for regulatory and law enforcement requests, ensuring compliance with all relevant legal and policy requirements.
- Lead the coordination and preparation of complex data submissions, including sensitive or high-profile cases, while maintaining strict confidentiality and data integrity.
- Develop and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of information submissions.
- Provide expert guidance and training to internal stakeholders on regulatory obligations and best practices for responding to external requests.
- Monitor emerging regulatory trends and proactively assess their impact on operational processes, recommending strategic adjustments as necessary.
- Represent the operations function in cross-functional risk forums and contribute to the development of enterprise-wide risk mitigation strategies.
This role demands strong stakeholder management skills, a proactive approach to risk and compliance, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.
Role Dimensions:
The jobholder will support the LEA lead within the country, taking a pivotal role in orchestrating the bank’s engagement with multiple external agencies. This responsibility involves close consultation with Financial Crime Compliance (FCC), Tax, and Regulatory Compliance teams to ensure a unified and strategic approach.
This demands a high level of accountability for managing and coordinating sensitive information requests, with a particular focus on preventing any breaches of submission deadlines stipulated in official notices. Navigating these interactions requires expert judgement, meticulous planning, and the ability to balance competing priorities across diverse stakeholders, underscoring the complex and critical nature of the position.
