Head of Collaboration and International Connectivity, Private Bank India
Principal responsibilities
- Embed the One-HSBC approach across business lines to deliver comprehensive solutions for our clients in Private Bank India (PBIN), through continuous capability development, joint customer engagement events and showcasing success stories.
- Align interests by enabling joint client planning and deepening relationships along with CIB colleagues.
- To establish attractive internal marketing programs and scheme to contribute prospecting and relationship building with internal partners and stakeholders.
- Being knowledgeable about the various coverage teams in CIB (e.g. Innovation Banking) and building capability to opportunistically bring in Specialists into the GPB relationship, using a situation-driven approach.
- Understand the business models of other GPB booking centers, leverage GPB global service and benefits to address offshore needs of PBIN customers. Also, to identify the opportunities to strength the PBIN offerings basket and share best practices.
- Regularly engage with collaboration Heads in other GPB booking centers to manage collaboration activities between PBIN and their markets.
- Enable GPB Passporting capability across key corridors.
- Ensure PBIN collaboration success stories are made available on the global GPB Collaboration HUB.
- Identify & replicate strengths of the Retail bank Corporate Relationships model.
- Enforce discipline of identifying global Wealth continuum opportunities from Retail Bank to GPB.
- The job holder is accountable for cross Global Business Collaboration related issues which are both defined and may arise over time – such as IWPB Upgrade process, incentivisation of referring businesses, referral process & tools, MI and reporting etc. and to enable a friction resolution model between frontline teams across LoBs.
- Strengthen the efficiency and effectiveness of the end-to-end referral process, improving productivity, consistency, and client outcomes.
- Identify and overcome operational barriers to facilitate business and support complex referral cases.
- Support implementation of the ASP GPB Collaboration & International Connectivity strategy, initiatives and associated operating framework.
- Following up and bringing opportunities to life, assisting to coordinate and deliver successful referrals within regulatory, compliance, and applicable cross-border guidelines.
Qualifications & skills
- University degree in Business Administration or other relevant qualifications.
- Minimum 15 years’ relevant experience from financial services industry, with strong knowledge of GPB products and services.
- Commercially minded with strong sales and client orientation, with well-developed communication and interpersonal skills to influence effectively across stakeholders.
- Strong sense of ownership and a service-led mindset, with a focus on maintaining efficient and effective client referral processes.
- Ability to think like a Business Development manager.
- Have a comprehensive knowledge of all PBIN policies and procedures (CDD, AML, Sanctions and cross-border guidelines).
- The job holder is expected to work with a high level of independence but manage complex and sophisticated stakeholder management. There will be a material amount of self-direction and a need for self-approval around certain key issues.
