We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join the HSBC Asset Management (India) Pvt Ltd – Fund Accounting team.

Job Introduction

The team member will play a pivotal role in ensuring end-to-end compliance for the daily calculation and dissemination of Net Asset Values (NAVs). The role covers oversight of NAV-related activities, conducting independent/alternate checks, processing and validating vendor payments, and producing clear, comprehensive reporting. The incumbent will co-ordinate internal, statutory, and SEBI audits, and will take ownership of tax co-ordination and related tax activities. In addition, the role requires maintaining accurate documentation, tracking concurrent auditors’ work, and ensuring all deliverables are completed accurately and within required timelines.

 

Principal Responsibilities 

  1. Ensure daily NAVs for multiple Mutual Fund (MF) schemes are accurately calculated by Fund Accounting (FA) and disseminated to the RTA within regulatory cut-offs.
  2. Manage scheme financials, including scheme accounting activities and related controls.
  3. Ensure invoices for scheme expenses are processed, validated, and recorded within agreed timelines.
  4. Provide extensive co-ordination and support for audits, including internal and statutory audits.
  5. Ensure compliance with applicable tax regulations, including ongoing monitoring and required submissions/activities.
  6. Perform alternate checks to strengthen the accuracy and reliability of processes; proactively identify opportunities to enhance controls and operational efficiency.
  7. Prepare monthly regulatory and internal reports, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely submission.
  8. Maintain up-to-date process notes, supporting documentation, and audit-ready records.
  9. Monitor concurrent auditors’ activities to ensure SLA adherence and provide timely, accurate responses to audit queries.
  10. Build and maintain strong knowledge of SEBI regulations and internal policies; stay current on regulatory changes and assess their operational impact.

Role Requirements / Education Qualifications / Certifications / Experience

  1. Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline; Chartered Accountant qualification preferred/required.
  2. 5–10 years’ experience in fund accounting or a similar role, including NAV calculation, reporting requirements, preparation of annual financial statements, and audit co-ordination.
  3. Strong understanding of financial instruments and markets; excellent numerical and analytical skills; clear written and verbal communication; collaborative team player; strong Excel proficiency. Knowledge of Mutual Fund and accounting regulations is an added advantage.
