We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join the Global Trade Solutions, India team.
Principal Responsibilities
The Transaction Risk Management job category is responsible for the effective identification, assessment, ongoing management, monitoring, and mitigation of existing transaction risk for wholesale banking clients. This job ensures customer relationship management, customer exits, returns to business as usual, deal endorsements, developing effective strategies for managing complex trade credit insurance claims, litigation, and recovery costs.
- Conduct due diligence / Manage underwriting of new and renewal credit opportunities including developing appropriate recommendation for wholesale credit and market risk. This includes New Proposal / facility renewal due diligence / endorsement and input pursuant to GTS FIM covering Receivables Finance (RF), Supply Chain Financing (SCF), Asset Backed Lending (ABL), Commodity Structured Trade Finance (CSTF) and other core trade finance product when TRM input / endorsement is required.

- TRM at the forefront of managing large elements of GTS financial and non-financial transaction risk
- In-life transaction control and post transaction key risk indicators management and early-stage risk detection
- Manage the analysis, interpretation and management of buyer credit risk;
- Ensure seller level existing portfolio and collateral within agreed operational guidelines, risk mitigants and controls
- Close monitoring of GTS overdue risk and escalation Lines of Business Relationship Manager, internal stakeholders, Wholesale Credit Risk (WCMR) and take appropriate de-risking actions once aligned with CMB/ GB and WCMR.

- Manage GTS portfolio and collateral within agreed operational guidelines, risk mitigants and controls.
- Monitor portfolio trends including sectors, positions of concern, delinquent positions and non-recourse structures, ensuring within risk appetite and taking appropriate action to mitigate loss.
- Ongoing expansion of the operating model, coupled with ongoing focus on Simplification, Elimination, Digitalisation and Automation for TRM processes to create efficiency of controls and capacity for growth.
- Management of credit risk mitigants including Trade credit insurance/ non-payment insurance to help improve facility return. Develop strategies to minimise losses while considering wider seller relationship profitability, where appropriate.
- Promote the transaction risk awareness within TRM and GTS, especially for the fraud risk awareness.
- Minimize bad debt through effective pre-commencement due diligence, in-live transaction monitoring and periodic deal review driven by client risk profile or external environment.
Role requirements / Educational Qualifications / Certification / Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, related field, or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of Structured Trade Finance Product, mainly Receivables Finance and Supply Chain Solutions.
- Experienced in credit and quality of receivables assessment and understanding of key ratios indicated via balance sheet, Profit and Loss and cash flow statements review.
- Knowledge and interest in local market and global macroeconomic condition.
- Curious mind and willingness to explore new deal structures.
- Interpersonal and negotiation skills in communicating with key stakeholders including Front Office sales team, credit risk officer and regional and global business.
- Proactive and able to work independently with capacity to lead a medium size team.
- Communication skills, able to clearly articulate ideas and negotiate for outcome with stakeholders.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations impacting the business, and the lending and credit approval process and Global Standards
Additional Information
Mandatory to successfully complete Anti-Money Laundering and Sanctions training and post-course assessment, as required.
