We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join the GTS Trade Operations team.
Job Introduction
- Sr Officer – Trade Operations
- Assist with management of teams engaged in transaction processing and checking (including with GSC/onshore, as applicable).
- Strong focus on DC issuances, SBDC issuances and FX trade payments.
- Assist with reconciliation, audit activity, and escalation management.
- Ensure tasks are executed in line with agreed SLAs, operating controls, and applicable regulations.
- Support stakeholder management and ensure the unit has the right systems, resources, and expertise to deliver objectives.
Principal Responsibilities
- Oversee trade transaction processing with service providers/teams to ensure delivery within SLA and compliance with operating controls.
- Perform/check end-to-end DC issuance and SBDC issuance processing (including vetting of instructions, accuracy of key terms, and timely actioning of amendments/cancellations).
- Handle and support FX trade-related payments (including correct accounting entries, value dating, and resolution of breaks).
- Ensure SWIFT messages relating to trade issuances and payments are actioned accurately, including daily checks/reconciliations. Know-how of the latest changes in the SWIFT messaging system.
- Monitor suspense & nostro accounts and ensure entries are passed promptly; follow up and resolve exceptions.
- Ensure primary & secondary reviews of control reports are completed as per GOP and evidence is retained.
- Support preparation for regulatory reporting, concurrent checks and internal audits (as applicable).
- Handle IDPMS queries from client end, to achieve closures.
- Clear understanding of the existing FEMA guidelines and Know-how of the latest changes in the FEMA guidelines.
- Investigate operational issues/events, perform root cause analysis and drive closure of actions.
- Coordinate with IT/project teams for change releases, UAT and defect resolution.
- Track transactions and internal approvals; participate in review calls with relevant group offices/stakeholders.
- In-depth knowledge of the RBI guidelines on Merchant Trade Transactions and the closure requirements.
- Ensure timely follow-up on commission receivables/payables and daily monitoring to prevent balance sheet differences.
Role Requirements / Education Qualifications / Certifications / Experience
- Graduate / Post Graduate Degree
- Minimum 10 years’ experience, with at least 5-6 years in Trade Operations
- Strong hands-on knowledge in DC issuances, SBDC issuances and FX trade payments
- Good knowledge of internal processes and applicable regulatory requirements (e.g., FEMA, where applicable)
- Good verbal and written communication skills; client and business-centric, solution-oriented with a strong control mindset
- People management skills (where applicable to the role.
- Pro Tip: Familiarity with AI-enabled tools is an advantage.
