Job Description – AVP Alliances (Band 6)

Role Purpose

The AVP – Strategic Alliances will be responsible for identifying, onboarding, and managing strategic partnerships that drive customer engagement and increase spends & Acquisition across the credit, Debit, propositions and lending portfolio of the bank. The role requires strong stakeholder management, commercial negotiation, partnership governance, and cross-functional collaboration with internal teams including Marketing, Product, Finance, Legal, Procurement and Operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and onboard new alliance partners aligned with the bank’s credit card growth strategy.
  • Build and manage strategic partnerships to drive customer acquisition, engagement, and card spends.
  • Lead commercial discussions and coordinate execution of partnership agreements in collaboration with Legal and Compliance teams.
  • Manage end-to-end partner lifecycle including onboarding, governance, performance tracking, and renewals.
  • Work closely with Marketing teams to conceptualize and execute customer communication campaigns, offers, and promotional initiatives.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure timely implementation of partnership-led campaigns and programs.
  • Monitor partner performance metrics, campaign effectiveness, and ROI to optimize business outcomes.
  • Manage vendor and partner payment processes, ensuring timely reconciliations and adherence to financial controls.
  • Support strategic initiatives to enhance portfolio profitability, customer engagement, and market competitiveness.
  • Prepare business reviews, MIS reports, presentations, and partnership updates for senior management.
  • Ensure all partnerships and activities comply with internal governance, regulatory requirements, and risk policies.

Preferred Experience

  • Prior exposure to credit cards, payments, or consumer banking products preferred
  • Experience managing strategic alliances, merchant partnerships, or co-branded programs is an advantage

Education Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Finance, or related field
  • MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification preferred

 

Pro-tip : Familiarity with AI-enabled tools is an advantage.
