Our GCIO organisation plays a critical role for the bank. This team partners with the businesses to build the platforms, systems, and products that our customers use every day. Role purpose:

Own the functional and early solution analysis for business initiatives sponsored across Global Business and Infrastructure. You’ll operate across SAFe review and analysis stages to ensure initiatives are clearly understood, technically shaped, compliant with regulatory expectations, and prioritised for delivery.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead functional analysis and technical discovery for funded business ideas during SAFe review and analysis, ensuring scope, outcomes, and delivery impacts are well-defined.
• Act as a single intake point (“front door”) into IT for registering initiatives, confirming budget ownership, impacted teams, and delivery scope before execution begins.
• Partner with business stakeholders to articulate business value, investment needs, and prioritisation across the change portfolio.
• Drive alignment of proposed solutions with enterprise architecture strategy and roadmaps, ensuring early engagement with architecture and engineering teams.
• Provide market-facing IT functional input to progress change through SAFe review and analysis phases up to the end of the initiation tollgate (BTF).
• Facilitate cross-team collaboration to produce high-level functional designs, feature decomposition, and initial solution options across platforms.
• Consolidate early engineering estimates, delivery timelines, and key assumptions to support business cases and investment decisions.
• Identify and manage functional, technical, and architectural dependencies across propositions, teams, platforms, and shared services.
• Build and maintain a forward-looking demand forecast based on the initiative pipeline into delivery teams.
• Support large and complex programmes with end-to-end functional analysis to ensure coherent, integrated solutions across multiple systems and domains.
• Anticipate and address strict regulatory and risk requirements emerging from new-age technologies (e.g., AI and Quantum-related considerations), ensuring traceability from requirements through to delivery.

Required technical capability:

• Strong working knowledge of Cloud, AI/ML, Data platforms, and DevSecOps practices (CI/CD, security-by-design, controls automation).
• Solid coding literacy with hands-on understanding of APIs (REST/JSON, authentication/authorisation patterns, integration design) and the ability to engage credibly with engineers on implementation approaches.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear functional requirements, acceptance criteria, and delivery-ready artefacts.

Communication and ways of working:

• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence across business, architecture, engineering, risk, and compliance stakeholders.
• Structured, analytical thought process with a bias for clarity, prioritisation, and pragmatic decision-making under delivery and regulatory constraints.
• Comfortable operating in a scaled agile environment and coordinating across multiple teams to drive outcomes at pace.

Pro-tip : Familiarity with AI-enabled tools is an advantage.
