Relationship Manager, SME Business Banking

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Relationship Manager, SME Business Banking. The base location for this role is Glasgow.
The Relationship Manager will provide dedicated customer service to a portfolio of clients with accountability for sales, service, risk and operational delivery. This role will have both external and internal stakeholders, Internal stakeholders may include Sales, Product Development, Risk & Compliance teams.
In this role you will:
- Arrange and conduct face to face meetings with SME clients, with 50 - 70 clients in portfolio
- Manage portfolio incomes of approximately £1.5 – £2m and SME clients with a £2-15m turnover
- Drive revenue growth through understanding customer needs and by adopting a needs-based approach which engages clients and increases new business
- Grow the business sustainably, by identifying opportunities to expand a portfolio and broadening client relationships by leveraging HSBC's extensive network
- Build a strong understanding of the client's business and industry to promote insights, enrich client conversations and deliver fair outcomes
- Have a comprehensive understanding of the client through pro-active credit risk assessments and customer due diligence reviews
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- Previous experience in a client facing role
- Proven ability in identifying and meeting customer needs
- Evidence of commercial lending will be advantageous
- Experience of leading and delivering excellent customer service and proactively looking for innovative ways to improve this service
- Experience of building effective networks across business areas, developing relationships based on mutual trust and encouraging others to do the same
- Comprehensive understanding of risk management and proven experience of ensuring own/others' compliance with relevant regulatory processes
