Role Overview

The Senior Manager, Distribution Risk Control, is responsible for overseeing and managing risk control processes within the Distribution Department of Hang Seng Insurance. This role ensures that all distribution activities comply with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices, safeguarding the company’s reputation and operational integrity.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain robust risk control frameworks and procedures for all distribution channels.
  • Monitor and assess risks associated with distribution activities, proactively identifying potential issues and recommending effective mitigation strategies.
  • Oversee and enhance the end-to-end insurance application process to ensure efficiency and compliance.
  • Conduct regular reviews and audits of distribution processes to ensure alignment with regulatory standards and internal guidelines.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Compliance, Legal, and Operations—to address risk-related matters and support business objectives.
  • Provide training and guidance to distribution staff on risk awareness, compliance requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Prepare comprehensive risk assessment reports and present findings to senior management, offering actionable recommendations for improvement.
  • Review and implement product development, product enhancement, process transformation, and customer journey revamp initiatives in partnership with the Product Development Team to achieve strategic business goals.
  • Build and maintain close collaboration with internal stakeholders and branches to ensure the smooth launch of streamlining initiatives and journey enhancements, leveraging day-to-day branch escalations and customer feedback.

Requirements

  • University degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years’ relevant experience in sales process and planning, with substantial exposure to the banking or financial services sector, including at least 5 years in a managerial capacity
  • Demonstrated leadership with strong stakeholder management, communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to drive results through attention to detail, creativity and positivity, independent approach
  • Advanced business acumen and marketing expertise, complemented by strong communication, analytical, and project management skills. Proficient in application software.
  • Strong sense of ownership and strategic service mindset, ensuring optimal customer service processes and outcomes.
  • Proficiency in English, Cantonese and/or Putonghua
