Business Risk and Resilience


Business Risk and Resiience (BRR) consists of subject matter experts in risks and controls. The team is responsible for managing risks in Chief Operating Office (COO) and throughout the Bank in a proactive and effective manner, enabling the Bank to thrive. We play a key role in monitoring and managing a wide range of risks and controls, driving a strong risk culture, ensuring customer protection, operational excellence as well as providing professional advice and recommendations as a trusted business partner.

As a member of BRR, you will assist in formulating proactive risk management strategies, driving continuous improvements, fostering an effective risk and control environment, and structuring comprehensive, risk based commercial solutions to help the Bank grow safely and operate efficiently. Additionally, you will be able to develop meaningful connections across the Bank, as well as actively learn and develop for a great employee experience.


We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our department as Manager, Business Risk and Resilience.

 


Principal responsibilities

 

  • Responsible for the end-to-end delivery of various bank-wise projects such as the Enterprise-Wide Risk Assessment (EWRA), Financial Market Infrastructure (FMI), and Operational Continuity in Resolution (OCIR) framework, policies and procedures to ensure embedment and compliance. Key responsibilities include:
    • Develop, manage and track project plans for delivery, including timelines, resources and budget
    • Establish strong collaboration with business and functions across the Bank to deliver the required standards and activities in a timely and effective manner
    • Provide quality advice, guidance and support to business and functions throughout
    • Identify potential delivery gaps, develop and coordinate risk management actions and follow through to successful closure 
    • For FMI and OCIR, execute key deliverables including process / business mapping, contingency and recovery planning, and performing regular drills, etc. 
    • Prepare regular status updates, meeting materials and management reports for robust governance and oversight
  • Partner with stakeholders in business and functions to formulate and translate the Bank’s strategy into initiatives and requirements for implementation.
  • Support the Department Head on business planning and people engagement agenda including driving departmental initiatives (e.g. simplification and innovation) and performance updates, team communications / events, learning and development 
  • Keep abreast of latest technology advancements, industry best practices and regulatory developments in risk management and resilience. Initiate proactive read-cross, challenge the status quo and explore opportunities to optimize the Bank’s risk management and resilience capabilities.

 


Requirements

  • University Graduate in Business/Finance/Risk Management or related subject
  • Over 5 years’ experience in managing risks and controls at banks / financial institutions. Prior experience in project management, business management and/or business continuity is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with abilities to engage a wide range of stakeholders
  • Proficiency in crafting presentation and custom reports for senior management
  • Self-motivated with strong sense of ownership, problem-solving abilities, organization and execution skills
  • Quick learner, agile and adaptable to changing priorities and tasks
  • Good understanding of banking business, operational processes, products and services
  • Strong command of spoken and written English and Chinese
