Role Overview

As a Senior Manager in Retail Insurance Distribution, you will lead the development and execution of distribution strategies to drive business growth and enhance customer experience. You will collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the effective delivery of insurance products and services through various retail channels.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement distribution strategies to achieve business targets and grow market share across retail insurance segment
  • Lead sales initiatives with branch channels focusing on bancassurance, mainlander segment. Identify business opportunities for channel optimization and innovation
  • Build strong internal and external partnerships to support business initiatives and maximize distribution effectiveness
  • Lead, coach and motivate a high-performing team, fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Build strong and trusted long-term relationship with key partners, including bank branches, RMs, HNW clients, external agencies, and digital partners to maximize distribution effectiveness
  • Promote financial planning awareness and position insurance solutions as essential tools for life planning and professional advice
  • Manage operational and compliance risks, ensuring all activities adhere to policies, regulations and risk standards
  • Maintain effective controls, promptly report breaches, and ensure timely resolution of control and reputation risks
  • Work with product, marketing, and operations teams to deliver seamless insurance solutions that meet customer needs and regulatory requirements
  • Monitor sales performance, market trends, and customer feedback, providing actionable insights and recommendations to senior management

 

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or related discipline 
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in direct channels Insurance distribution, including at least 5 years in a managerial capacity
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, stakeholder management, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong sense of ownership and a service-oriented mindset, ensuring efficient and effective customer service processes
  • Proven ability to drive sales growth and manage multi-channel distribution
  • Comprehensive knowledge of insurance products, market trends, life insurance propositions and the regulatory environment
  • Experience in wealth management and portfolio review, with expertise in retirement, legacy and risk (protection) planning
  • Exposure to Private Banking, PRC markets, and a background in law or trust is preferred 
  • Professional qualification in financial planning (e.g. CFMPTM, CFPCM, FLMI, CFA) and passes in the Insurance Intermediaries Qualifying Examinations are advantageous
  • Mature, creative and dynamic with excellent communication and presentational skills
  • Proficiency in English, Cantonese and/or Putonghua
