Real Estate Finance is a specialist team with primary responsibility for relationships involving Commercial Real Estate investors and developers. The adopted strategy of ‘by Professionals, to Professionals’ results in our customer portfolios being comprised of professional operators and market leaders in their sectors.
The Associate Director role is to proactively support the Real Estate Relationship Directors (RD) to enable them to deliver the optimum contribution towards the Real Estate Annual Operating Plan (AOP), improve client engagement, maximise operational efficiency and allow the RMs to spend more time with clients and grow income.
You will be responsible for:
• Supporting the Relationship Director with holistic relationship management with accountability for business development, service, risk and operational delivery
• Support customers and place their needs at the forefront of all that we do, setting world class standards and ensuring demonstrating fair customer treatment and delivery of customer satisfaction
• Manage regulatory and reputational risk, ensure business adherence throughout the client lifecycle by identifying, assessing, accepting, monitoring, escalating and mitigating risk
• Focus on growing the business sustainably, by identifying opportunities to expand a portfolio and broadening client relationships by leveraging HSBC's extensive network
• Drive revenue growth through understanding customer needs and by adopting a needs-based approach which engages clients and increases new business
• Build a strong understanding of the client's business and industry to promote insights, enrich client conversations and deliver fair outcomes
• Confidently manage financial crime risk throughout the client lifecycle by identifying, assessing, accepting, monitoring, escalating and mitigating risk.
To be successful in this role you should have:
• A broad knowledge and experience in Commercial/Corporate Banking and Bank’s structures, products and services is essential.
• Knowledge of or a keen interest in the economic and market environment with an ability to demonstrate how this impacts HSBC real estate business would be advantageous.
• Experience and understanding of Bank’s systems - use of ORC, CARM, Credit Lens and CME systems (including reporting) and complex MI is essential
• Proven track record in a client focussed environment with previous relationship support experience being beneficial, with the ability to identify customer needs and make appropriate referrals or present suitable solutions.
• Good analytical and financial analysis skills are essential.
• Strong prioritising, decision making, organisational and time management abilities with excellent verbal and written communications skills is essential.
• Influencing skills and ability to builds positive working relationships with our customers, colleagues and stakeholder
This is a hybrid position with the base location of this role being flexible between Birmingham or Manchester. There is a requirement to travel to client meetings on a regular basis and as some clients are based nationally, the successful candidate needs to be able to travel as and when required.
