The opportunity: Resilience Risk Senior Manager – Permanent contract

At HSBC, our purpose is opening up a world of opportunity and by joining our team, you can be part of something bigger. We are committed to removing barriers and ensuring careers at HSBC are inclusive and accessible.

Being part of HSBC in Luxembourg, you’ll help evolve and grow our Risk function. Have you overseen resilience, operational, technology and cyber risk in a 2 LoD role? Can you influence and challenge senior stakeholders? Do you understand DORA and the Luxembourg regulatory landscape?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, we want to hear from you!

What you will do:

Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer Luxembourg, you will oversee the implementation of the Non-Financial Risk (NFR) Strategy and an effective Risk Management Framework in Luxembourg. Acting as a 2LoD Risk Steward Specialist, you will demonstrate strong stewardship in line with NFR Risk Steward accountabilities, partnering with the 1LoD to embed Risk Policies and improve the risk profile across HSBC Luxembourg. The role has a particular focus on Technology and Cyber Security Risk and Controls.

In this role, you will (but not limited to):

  • Support the Country CRO by partnering with the businesses and functions to support growth, profitability, return on tangible equity and sustainability aspirations, while maintaining the appropriate risk management discipline to achieve strategic goals.
  • Provide risk management input and stewardship on all Resilience Risk Management matters, including supporting the CRO in establishing and maintaining effective governance.
  • Ensure an appropriate risk governance structure is in place in line with HSBC Principles, Risk Management Framework and local regulatory requirements.
  • Establish and execute an effective non-financial risk framework for an integrated approach to operational, Technology and Cyber risk across the country.
  • Translate information risk, Transaction Processing Risk and Third-Party Risk into clear business terms for GB/GF stakeholders, helping them operate within risk appetite by recommending mitigating actions.
  • Maintain oversight of Non-Financial Risks in the country, with a strong understanding of local regulatory requirements, DORA, and Technology and Cyber regulations, including the Review and Challenge of risk assessment, incidents and issues.

You should apply if you have:

  • Deep expertise in Risk Management, particularly Resilience Risk and Operational Risk, as well as Technology and Cyber Security risks. Knowledge of DORA would be considered as a strong asset.
  • The ability to implement a vision and strategy for risk capability across global functions, and to secure buy-in from key stakeholders, including C-suite leaders.
  • Proven ability to navigate complex organisations.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders, enabling effective delivery of vision and strategy.
  • Experience in handling complex issues pragmatically, identifying core security and business requirements and translating them into clear, actionable activities.
  • Experience delivering transformation and change programmes.
  • Business fluency in English.

Even if you feel you do not meet 100% of our qualifications, we encourage you to apply if you believe this role is right for you.

What you’ll get in return:

HSBC operates multiple variable pay plans, to reflect the diverse nature of the businesses, roles and markets in which we operate. Variable pay is designed to reward colleagues for their individual performance and contribution, as well as the performance of their relevant Business / Infrastructure, and the overall Group.
