Job description
The opportunity: CFO HSBC Investment Funds (Luxembourg) S.A. – Permanent contract
At HSBC, our purpose is opening up a world of opportunity and by joining our team, you can be part of something bigger. We are committed to removing barriers and ensuring careers at HSBC are inclusive and accessible.
Being part of HSBC in Luxembourg, you’ll help evolve and grow our Asset Management business. Are you ready to be the CFO of a multi-branch Asset Management entity? Can you steer IFRS reporting, controls and audits end-to-end? Can you shape executive choices with clear, financial insight?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, we want to hear from you!
What you will do:
Reporting functionally to the Asset Management Continental Europe CFO and locally to the CEO of HSBC Investment Funds Luxembourg (HIFL), you will head the Finance function for HIFL, the HIFL Ireland Branch and the HIFL UAE Branch. You will ensure consistently high standards of financial control, reporting and executive insight. You will be a key member of the HIFL Local Management Committee and a standing attendee at key governance forums, presenting the HIFL’s financial position to senior stakeholders.
In this role, you will (but not limited to):
- Head the Finance function across HIFL Luxembourg, HIFL Ireland Branch and HIFL UAE Branch, setting a high bar for financial control, reporting quality and decision support for executive stakeholders.
- Deliver accurate, timely and compliant Group reporting, producing clear, executive-ready MI and ad hoc insight for stakeholders including the AMEU CFO.
- Own end-to-end statutory reporting: prepare IFRS financial statements aligned to Asset Management standards and maintain strong ledger integrity, including oversight of postings to the HIFL ledger.
- Direct the audit cycle end-to-end, coordinating auditors to meet all deliverables on time and to a high standard.
- Drive a robust balance sheet and cost base: ensure reconciliations are complete and well-evidenced; oversee operational budgets for fund ranges; maintain accurate accruals and invoice governance, keeping forecasts aligned to business changes.
- Provide effective financial stewardship and risk oversight: submit local regulatory returns; validate management fee calculations and intercompany payaways to ensure fair revenue allocation across AMG sites; act as TPEM and/or Risk Steward for suppliers where applicable.
You should apply if you have:
- Relevant professional accountancy qualification (e.g., ACA / ACCA / CA / CPA or equivalent).
- Strong experience in asset management, financial services, audit and/or private wealth management, with senior accountability for financial control and reporting.
- Deep knowledge of IFRS and financial statement preparation. Knowledge of Lux GAAP and Luxembourg regulatory reporting requirements is an advantage.
- Strong leadership capability, including oversight of offshore/outsourced teams and delivery through a matrix environment.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain technical matters to non-specialists and senior stakeholders.
- Fluency in English; additional languages are an advantage.
Even if you feel you do not meet 100% of our qualifications, we encourage you to apply if you believe this role is right for you.
What you’ll get in return:
