The value you’ll add:

A brand-new opportunity has become available to join the Payments, FX and Cards Product Management Team as a Vice President (‘VP I’), within HSBC Innovation Banking UK (‘HSBC’).  If successful in your application to join us, you'll report directly to a Senior Product Manager, primarily overseeing the end-to-end product governance process in addition to supporting the daily end to end management of Products across the team.

 

What you can expect to be doing:

The role is hands on, and process focused.  The role encompasses and has the following principal responsibilities:

  • Product Governance: you will hold primary responsibility for implementing the product governance framework and ensure smooth product delivery and change within the framework with key focus on risks adherence to bank’s policy.  Specifically, you will oversee the end-to-end governance process with key stakeholders, oversight into product documentation inventory and ensure regulatory and internal policy standards are observed
  • Product Development and Management: you will be involved in product development, maintenance, commercialisation, client experience and shaping strategic priorities, working closely with internal partners and clients. This includes responsibility for existing products and new development, managing the products throughout the life cycle, inspecting, and challenging the relevant product P&Ls in line with defined budgets and plans (ensuring soundness and fit-for-purpose baselines).  Furthermore, you will continuously monitor industry environment to ensure product offerings are evolving with regulatory and market changes

In addition, the successful candidate will work with the wider HSBC product governance apparatus and identify trends to anticipate future developments in risk and control environment

 

Requirements:

Generalist knowledge of Commercial Bank treasury services

Familiarity with product risk framework.  i.e. Financial Crime, Operational Resilience.  Strong regulatory knowledge a plus

Proven successful track record of new product development and solid understanding of product lifecycle methodology

A strong team player that is self-motivated. The ability to multitask, adapt to an ever-changing landscape of deliverables, be able to navigate ambiguity, a deep sense of ownership and collaborative approach are essential

Ability to perform under pressure, prioritise effectively, appreciating and adapting to a fast-moving business environment

A passion for detail and desire to unearth it through data driven analysis, where the candidate will often be the one gathering the data

Our home office in Finsbury Square, London. We offer hybrid working to our employees, so you can flex between home and the office, with a current requirement to be in the office 2 days per week.
