Structured Product Specialist, UK Private Bank
London, GB, W1S 3LJ
Job description
If you’re looking for a career that will help you stand out, join HSBC, and fulfil your potential - whether you want a career that could take you to the top, or an exciting new direction, we offer opportunities, support and rewards that will take you further.
We’re one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world, with a network that covers more than 50 countries and territories. We aim to be where the growth is, enabling businesses to thrive and economies to prosper, and, ultimately, helping people fulfil their hopes and realise their ambitions.
We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Structured Product Specialist.
Want to sit right at the heart of the Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) client conversation—bringing market ideas to life and executing sophisticated structured solutions? Our market-leading Structured Products team in London is growing fast, and we’re looking for someone who can combine product expertise, trading discipline and clear client communication.
If you’re excited by markets, enjoy building solutions that genuinely fit client needs, and want to help shape a fast-growing platform—let’s talk.
As an HSBC employee in the UK, you’ll have access to tailored professional development opportunities and a competitive pay and benefits package. This includes private healthcare for all UK-based employees, enhanced maternity and adoption pay and support when you return to work, and a contributory pension scheme with a generous employer contribution
In this role you will:
- Partner with Relationship Managers, Investment Counsellors and CIO/Investment teams to deliver structured solutions (multi-asset, multi-currency)
- Advise UHNW clients on themes, ideas and risk—translating payoff mechanics into clear outcomes and trade-offs
- Originate, price and execute structured trades, owning the process end-to-end across the product lifecycle
- Work closely with counterparties and internal stakeholders to source ideas, optimise pricing and deliver on time
- Bring macro/markets insight and high-conviction trade ideas to Private Bank investment forums
- Keep suitability, governance and strong client outcomes front and centre
- Simplify and standardise workflows to reduce operational risk and strengthen controls
- Drive automation and improve reporting/MI across systems and tools
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- Extensive structured products experience (Private Banking/Wealth/Investment Banking)
- Strong execution/trading capability; client-facing experience is a plus, but senior credibility is essential
- Ability to explain structured products clearly to audiences with different levels of sophistication
- Strong prioritisation, attention to detail, and a disciplined approach to risk and controls
- Comfortable working at pace and under pressure—while staying collaborative and team-first
- Track record of driving change (process, platform, automation, reporting/MI improvements)
- Bloomberg, Excel and PowerPoint skills are essential (coding skills a bonus)
- CISI Level 4 (incl. Derivatives) or CFA Level 1 + IMC 1&2
