We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join the Group Strategy and Planning Team in the role of Strategy Analyst.

As the Strategy Analyst you will participate in Group Strategy projects or Group-wide initiatives assessing structural long term opportunities for HSBC leveraging Group capabilities you will also provide support to Associates, Engagement Managers and Directors, as required on strategic reviews and to improve quality of strategic planning, management information (MI), accountability and governance.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Undertake in-depth analysis to support the development and track execution of Group Strategy.
  • Identify key issues/opportunities using internal and external sources to provide actionable strategy recommendations for the group.
  • Provide support to senior Strategy Function and Group leadership as required on strategic reviews and to improve quality of strategic planning, management information (MI), accountability and governance.
  • Ensure proper and timely consideration of market, industry and competitor analysis to support planning and performance management activities and effectively communicate (both written and oral) across internal stakeholders – within Group Strategy, across strategy colleagues in the bank and across other functions within Group.
  • Undertake quantitative analysis of market drivers, internal performance trends, and inorganic opportunities.

 

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Experience of working within a Strategy role in a Consultancy or Corporate function.
  • Experience working in financial services/banking
  • Quantitative and analytical skillset with an ability to work with complex data is essential.
  • Knowledge of using external sources such as Bloomberg, Capital IQ is Desirable.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills, including Excel modelling (forecasting/budget)
  • Ability to work with individuals at different levels of seniority, with the ability to build relationships by communicating effectively with stakeholder/customers



The base location for this role is London with a hybrid working pattern.
