The team you’ll work with:
The Corporate Debt Finance team is responsible for developing and managing credit relationships with clients and prospects across a variety of asset classes: PLCs, owner-managed and sponsor-owned Corporates all in the mid to large cap space. The Debt Finance team leads the deal structuring and due diligence process, partnering with the Technology Bankers on the delivery and negotiation of debt solutions and is responsible for proactive & robust portfolio management.
What you can expect to be doing:
Senior Associates support the end-to-end deal process:
- Ensuring consistently high standards of diligence, underwriting and execution whilst delighting clients and adhering to HSBC Innovation Banking lending policies.
- Analysis and underwriting for new debt facilities and amendments including the review and due diligence on client information and financials, supporting in structuring the deal, overall credit approval package preparation and closing.
- Participate in client meetings to gather and understand information to be able to effectively communicate updates to key stakeholders.
This role will also include day-to-day portfolio management of borrowing clients:
- Day-to-day credit management of a portfolio of borrowing clients. Responsibility to include regular meetings with clients and proactively identifying credit risks.
- Support proactive portfolio management by reviewing financial and other information (both externally and internally prepared) to properly assess client situations and risk.
- Own and maintain the credit relationship with a portfolio of cash management clients.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate would have the following experience and attributes:
- Prior experience in banking with previous experience in cashflow lending preferred
- Prior experience working in the innovation economy a strong plus
- Consistently demonstrates excellent credit skills
- Able to confidently co-ordinate and manage the credit process for a new debt deal
- Confident in financial modelling and analysing management accounts
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proactive, self-motivated with high levels of energy and strong work ethic

Our home office in Finsbury Square, London. We offer hybrid working to our employees, so you can flex between home and the office, with a current requirement to be in the office 2 days per week.
